We had a wonderful staycation for a late Valentine’s Day celebration. We brought our Frenchie puppy and it was so enjoyable. Had an amazing view of the city from the 19th floor. Loved the shower. Staff was extra helpful and friendly. Thank you! We will be back.
Had a great special getaway and the staff at Thompson Chicago make it spectacular. This is by far the best place in town to experience the finer things. Great service, great amenities and overall a wonderful trip.
I stayed on the 21st floor, the views were amazing. Room was clean and comfy. I loveeeee the rain shower head. Great place to sit relax and catch the great downtown Chicago views. I’ll be booking again!
I’ve stayed in five hotels since the pandemic hit and this one blew it out of the park for cleanliness, professional, and character. Everyone was so kind and explained all of the ways they were staying cleaning and what they were doing for their guests. They made me feel safe. It’s right across from really delicious restaurants and right by all of the shopping. I’ll definitely be back!
Let me clarify this review is solely about the hotel room itself. The night I arrived my bed had dried up boogers/mucus on the comforter. When i say I almost thew up, I am not exaggerating whatsoever it was revolting. My biggest concern was that there were no top sheets between you and the comforter... clearly the comforters are not washed between stays so you are basically sharing someones dirty bed immediately after they leave. In general it's common knowledge the comforters aren't always the cleanest at hotels... but at a 4 star hotel during COVID I was shocked and disappointed. The front desk staff immediately upgraded my room and handled it well. Everyone I encountered at the front desk was helpful, friendly, and provided great service when requested. However, as someone who used to live in the neighborhood and has to come to Chicago on a monthly basis I am disappointed that this won't be my go to hotel when I'm in town. I'm glad I only booked the Thompson for the first 5 days staying in Chicago so I was able to move across the street to The Viceroy for the remainder of my 11 day visit. I could also complain about the wind being so loud through the window that wouldn't shut, there not being enough blankets, and the shower water only been luke warm, but those aspects didn't ruin my stay. The restaurant, Nico, is great when open and the location of the hotel itself is more than ideal for someone who likes to enjoy the neighborhood feel of Gold Coast but needs to be close to the Loop for business.…
