Overall this hotel is a 5 start hotel. Every staff member is very professional and helpful. Very clean and well kept hotel. Rooms are amazing. Spa is on point. There was not a ounce of bad experience here. I always recommend this hotel to everyone I know or meet.
Our fifth stay at the Langham, and it was exceptional as always. Great location, tastefully designed lobby, rooms, bar, and restaurant, and outstanding service from a friendly staff. I can't see staying anywhere else when visiting Chicago.
The Langham is exceptional in every way from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. Staff is very well trained and every interaction yielded a positive outcome. Jeremy the doorman to Emma the front desk person all excelled. Rooms are beautiful and Very well taken care of, while house keeping does an impressive and very thorough job. Including placing slippers at foot of bed for turn down! Lovely.
I did a lot of research to choose the hotel for us for our recent stay in Chicago. It was down to a mix of good location and good reviews, and The Langham didn't disappoint. They arranged for a car to collect us from the airport, and the process was seamless. Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming - the doormen need a special shout out and were particularly friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotless and the toiletries and towels and plentiful. On one occasion one of our bathrooms hadn't been cleaned (we were in a suite, so had the luxury of two bathrooms to use), but it was picked up on the next day. Room service was good, and service in the restaurant at dinner was good, but the food was a little disappointing. My husband loved his lobster, but my venison didn't meet my expectations. The concierge service is good and efficient, but the desk isn't always manned, so we had to deal either via email or via the Front Desk. In fact, we only saw someone there on one occasion over the course of six days. I'm used to concierge desks always being manned, so it was a surprise. The Front Desk staff are always friendly and try to help. However, on a number of occasions when I asked questions (where to buy a card for the L train, if I could mail a letter through the hotel, and where I could print something from my email) I was either left to find out the answer elsewhere (a helpful lady in a local Walgreens sorted out the query re. the L card) and I had to ask prompting questions AND follow up with a phone call later in the day re. the status of the letter I wanted to post. As for printing out a document, I was told to at first email the front desk and they would print it for me (not possible, as the item in question had formatting issues when forwarded), and was then eventually told that there was a 'Business Centre' on the third floor where 'they may be able to help you'. The Business Centre is a room with one computer and a printer, which is unmanned. Once I discovered it, I was able to deal with the matter myself without any issues. All of these things are not complex - and I would imagine they are things that many guests will want to do/ask, so again ... a surprise that these things proved to be as laboured as they were. I also discovered, when I saw another guest checking in and being given far more information about the hotel than we were (we had to check with Front Desk re. how to order room service, for example) that this information is not provided as standard to every guest. A couple of other things to note: it would be helpful if a 'do not disturb' sign could be provided for each room to avoid us being interrupted every night for turn down service. On one occasion, the lady entered the room without knocking and was surprised to find us there. She apologised, but of course should have knocked on the door / rang the doorbell as the other ladies had done. It would also be useful if a bin could be provided in the bathroom(s) of the rooms to avoid sanitary items having to be placed in the main bathroom area. Something we didn't have to use on this trip - but something that many would appreciate going forward. It would also be appreciated if a tea/coffee maker was available for use in the rooms. It may not sound as if we enjoyed our stay, but we did, and we would certainly stay at The Langham when we are next in Chicago. The above observations are meant to be helpful, and I'm sure if they are addressed, the hotel would be perfect.…
The location, amenities, and staff were wonderful. The Executive Club Level Lounge is the way to go to truly experience all the property has to offer. The gym and spa were fabulous. Our concierge, David was exceptionally knowledgeable in his recommendations for dining options, museums, Jazz bars, etc.. Truly a superb 5 star property on the Chicago river.
We stayed at the Langham just after Christmas for a family stay-cation in the city. We weren't sure how this would go with three kids but the Langham knocked it out of the park. We were greeted by the kindest staff at the door and the front desk staff was wonderful. The room/pool/fitness center was extremely clean and well-kept. Spa was exceptional and we even rented the cinema room for the night and the concierge could not have made us feel more at home. I cannot say enough great things about this hotel and we cannot wait to return as a couple and/or family!
Beautiful hotel! Great service! Delicious breakfast! Great drinks and meeting areas! We had a great time at a recent stay. Our room was beautiful !!!! There was convenient and reasonable parking very near this hotel!
Stayed with my husband for a brief staycation. We were kicking and screaming to leave. An absolutely lovely, fantastic stay that felt equal parts luxurious and personal. Will be back for sure whenever we next can!
A great anniversary getaway for a couple of nights! The hotel and property are beautiful and location is ideal. The breakfast at Travelle was incredible. Couldn’t have had a more wonderful staff, especially the bellmen and door staff.
Beautiful, clean and well appointed from the lobby to the guest suites. Very spacious with nice large windows and views of the city. We had a river view and spent more time in our room because of the view and comfort level it provided. Very spacious bathroom suite area with many amenities. Every employee we encountered was helpful and accommodating. A five star review for sure!
