Located in the Carbide & Carbon building, cool lobby with music memorabilia and gorgeous architectural details. We arrived early and were able to check-in, quick and painless. Room was in the 33rd floor of the tower section of the hotel providing amazing views of the...More
Great location and friendly staff but this hotel is in need of a major renovation. I stayed in a great room with city views. Room service is quick. Many restaurants around within walking distance. Will come back once renovated.
This is all what’s good in this place... location. Service is lackluster. From checking in to checking out. It seems like the emotions of the staff were frozen from the cold weather.
Hopefully it will change.
Just stayed there for a nearby conference at the Hyatt Regency. It was kind of cool (rock & roll memorabilia everywhere) and the room was good-sized and comfortable. It focuses on the music theme by even having a ZVOX soundbar for the TV! The bathroom...More

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of
the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

Our commenters are exactly right. If you make your way North on Michigan Avenue to Upper Wacker, you'll then turn right (heading East, towards the Lake) and proceed up another block. 5 minute walk all in.
