Spent two nights here in the 10-bed room. The staff made it a great place to stay. Great Wifi, clean room and bathroom. Vending machines in the building. Like the public places on the second floor with billiards. However at night i needed to put my coat over the blanket to keep me warm "enough". Others did not have such...

I booked a double at HI Chicago, expecting to get a tiny room that could barely squeeze my friend and I into. Quite surprisingly, we ended up getting a relatively spacious one with bunked beds (one queen size and one twin size) in a suite of two rooms. The suite came wth a kitchen, a bathroom and public space with...

Hi; Thank you for your feedback. It would appear we have exceeded your expectation with the rooms. HI-Chicago is not your typical hostel and it is our goal to surprise each of our guests on a daily basis. Thanks for the recommendation and looking forward to hosting you again.

HI Chicago has been a great place to stay. My son stayed here a few times for more than a week each time. It was perfect for him and he/we found the staff to be helpful and accommodating. Keep up the great work!!

I stayed in this hostel on my last trip to Chicago in July, the hostel is perfectly located in downtown Chicago, 1-2 blocks away from subway and bus stops and offers a great service (breakfast, integration activities, free walking tours, etc.).

I was accompanying my sister to visit a college in Chicago and since we were on a budget we decided to stay in this hostel. It was our first hostelling experience which led me to use the HI hostels in Niagara, Seattle and San Fran in the following years. Hands down the best company to run hostels. In this location...

I chose this hostel for the price and location. Was not disappointed. I was a little nervous as this was my first time in a dorm room (8 person). My stay was 4 nights and only one night was every bed occupied. We had a shower and separate toilet room within our room. Each bed had its own light and...

Stayed here for three nights. The location is great a very short walk from the train station from the airport. Also right in the middle of downtown. Very nice interior and staff was extremly friendly and knowledgeable. Room was very clean as well as bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed in the hostel for 7 nights, in a Men's 8 bed dorm room. At first, i was bit skeptical, however finally the experience was very good. Only for one night the room was completely full, that means all the 8 beds occupied, otherwise most of the nights, there were only 4 persons. It is a good way to...

Thank you very much for your kind review. It is much appreciated. As a not for profit and a travel organization, we understand that it can be very expensive to travel and therefore we are priced with that in mind. Cultural understanding and tolerance is our mission, therefore we try to encourage that in every way possible.

This was the most affordable place I could find when I went to Chicago. The rest of the downtown hotel prices were well in the 3 figure range and I wasn't willing to pay that kind of price. The best part is that it's located near Lake Michigan so going anywhere in the Downtown area was not a problem at...
