Fairmont Chicago was a very centrally located hotel. We walked to most of our destinations throughout the day. the gentleman who tended the central downstairs coffee bar was very helpful with some questions and when I needed some ice bags for someone who fell on the ice, he was there to assist and even asked how she was the next morning. Another grateful thing was we left something in our room and upon arrival the housekeeper was there. I walked in and she immediately asked for my key and did not allow me access until I proved that I was the guest staying in that room by using my key to unlock the door. I felt much safer about my stay at the hotel. Great views of Millennium Park and the lake. Thank you!
I was in town for a professional conference and was delighted that the organizers chose the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. From the moment I disembarked the cab from the airport, the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. the conference room was quite suited for our purposes and the breakfasts and snacks were first rate. My room was very clean and well appointed. In short, my experiences at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park were awesome and I highly recommend this fine property.
Quite disappointing. I’ve stayed at other Fairmont and it’s always been fantastic, this one was not. It wasn’t very clean, including finding small hairs in the bathroom and even a couple drops of urine on the toilet seat when I first arrived. The tv also barely worked, the bed was not well made and the pillows were uncomfortable at best. I also had a broken curtain rod on one side where the light would leak in. I paid for the “premium” internet and after running a speed check on more than one device was getting a whopping 8 mbps…that’s dial up level slow. I could barely work. My key card had to be reset multiple times as well. Not great. Was here for a conference and was excited to stay at a Fairmont. I won’t be back.
My room was excellent and very clean. The main issue I had was that I requested no housekeeping, but they came in each day anyway. The reason I do not like housekeeping is that I re-use towels and I locate them specifically so I know which towel has been used and for what. When housekeeping moves them, I do not know if they've been replaced with fresh towels or if my prior used towels were refolded. Also, the wifi internet connection did not work at all while I was there, and I had to use my cell phone's internet connection.
I was surprised this trip for my birthday. We got a room on the 32nd floor. The view was amazing. We were facing the park. That evening we took a stroll down Michigan Ave which is within walking distance.
Very nice hotel and staff, in a great location, but some parts are a bit dated. The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect for those visiting Chicago on holiday. You couldn't be closer to the hot spots. The staff are also really nice. My only negative would be that the rooms and corridors are a bit dated and tired looking. We stayed for Christmas and I think would be great if the hotel did something a little special for guests staying on Christmas day, perhaps a Christmas drink to welcome you in the morning or special chocolates in the room.
A really good hotel with excellent helpful staff. It is located in a fairly quiet road but still in easy reach of the main attractions including, not surprisingly, Millenium Park but also Lake Michigan and the Magificint Mile. The Columbus Tap, the in-house gastropub is very good with a range of craft beers and a nice menu. The Lobster Roll was really excellent. The only slipwas that we came back one afternoon and our room had not been serviced. This was quickly rectified and was not a problem.
We had an amazing time in Chicago thanks to the hotel receptionist (whose name i forgot by now - i'm sorry!!!! all i remember is that her family was from Turkey.) I am aircrew and sometimes at hotels i feel like because i'm crew they want to just put me in a room and get rid of me. Not with the Fairmont. I was treated beyond my expectations and my husband was also extremely pleased with the way we were treated and accommodated.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights on a quick honeymoon getaway and it did not disappoint. The service we received was above and beyond what we imagined. In particular, Mandana in the Fairmont Gold lounge looked after her like we were esteemed guests in her own home, attentively catering to any request. She really made us feel special. The room was wonderful, a fantastic view and comfortable bed. The vibe in the lobby was very cozy and wintery and made it feel like a real getaway. Also the location is great— we walked around the area quite a bit and saw shops, restaurants, and sites. The most notable and impressive part of the trip was the service we received throughout the hotel— everyone was passionate about making our stay the best it could be. We can’t wait to return.
I had a lovely stay at the Fairmont during a conference in Dec. 2022. The hotel was within an easy distance to use public transportation to commute to McCormack Place and elsewhere to explore the city. The hotel restaurant/bar was really great late at night. The bartendress was perfect, letting me read my book and chatting with me when I was ready to order and ready for some social time after a long day of conference interactions. I ate their twice and was never disappointed. Finally, there was the room. I was on the 32nd floor, and the view from the bay windows was probably my favorite thing. Watching the rain and snow fall from the safety of my warm room at night was a delight. The bathroom impressed me. having not only separate shower and tub configurations, but a separate water closet. The room was kept up beautifully while I was at my conference, and was a comfort to return to. The hotel concierge was also very accommodating, bringing up a mini fridge when I requested one, and giving me 2 passes for free drinks at the bar. I had a wonderful stay and would be happy to return someday soon.…
