We chose the ritz as a special treat for my mothers weekend. We were notified in advance that there would be construction but didn't realize how extensive it was. The overal service of the staff was great as I would expect but the TV was old and the toilet was very low to the ground.

excellent service very friendly. The location to downtown was perfect. All my meeting and dinners were walking distance. I look forward to returning to Chicago soon. I would highly recommend the Ritz Carlton

When we visited, the hotel was under construction and major portions of the public spaces were unavailable - something that we learned of considerably after booking (to late to make other acceptable arrangements). The old core Four Seasons staff (this CRC was operated until recently by the Four Seasons chain) worked very hard to make the stay acceptable, but the...

The staff at this hotel are phenomenal. Alex Nicosia is a top notch professional and made my stay at the hotel the best ever. Traveling for work I stay at a number of hotels; this is the first time that I felt sad about leaving a hotel. I highly recommend this property, and I hope that Alex will be working,...

While construction can be blamed for some of the problems at the Ritz Carlton Chicago, there seems to be a loss of ambience brought on by new inexperienced staff as well. While I give three stars, it's for the remaining loyal staff who maintain the standards guests had come to appreciate when the R-C was run by the Four Seasons....

We had an amazing room -- a lot of space, wonderful view of the lake, recently renovated (very, very nice). Truly one of the better hotel rooms I've experienced. The lobby was under construction during our stay, so that detracts from the overall Ritz-Carlton experience. No big deal for business travelers, but leisure travelers might be disappointed.

Better to stay at the JW or Marriott. No platinum Marriott perks honored here. The quality of the hotel is more like a Courtyard than a Ritz. Shower had 2 inch drain sticking out to catch your foot. Work out towels were dingy yellow and stained. Great work out facility and restaurant was excellent.

Laura at the front desk was very welcoming, professional, pleasant. It was my birthday. She upgraded our room which was incredible. The complimentary champagne and strawberries were very nice. My girlfriend was unfortunately a little inebriated when we checked in. However, Laura handled the situation like a pro. Thanks for everything. I have stayed at other luxury hotels in Chicago...

The property is stale and dated. I stayed in a suite which felt like a time capsule from the 1970s and was desperately in need of a complete renovation. Not up to caliber of other Ritz Carlton properties. Would not recommend to friends or associates.

For my daughter's birthday we wanted to book an overnight AG Experience. I decided on the Ritz because of its location to the AG store. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. The service was top notch! The toy wagon upon arrival, the candy cart coming to the door, the...

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighbourhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
