We usually ask for a handicap accessible room. They told us they were not accessible, but we decided try it anyway. It worked fine for us. My husband has trouble walking, and uses a transport chair or walker. The sink is separate from the bathroom. The toilet is raised, but no grab bars. The tub/shower are not easily accessible. The...

Serves the purpose, although we put our bags in our room, shut off tv, lights etc... We come back the tv is on and the light is on. That night we were sleeping, at 3:30 am the light above our bed came on. This was in room 24. Also, the mirror in that room may be a 2 way mirror.

Hey, it ain't the Ritz Carlton, but for $46 out the door I was quite happy with my stay. The motel was nearly full, and the manager explained that the only double available was OK except the air conditioner was missing its cover....no problem. The room was functional, and most importantly, clean. I grew up in Carthage, and it's nice...

This is an old sixties style cinder block motel with a place to park outside of every room. The place had new carpeting, new flooring, new mattresses and was very clean. The prices were reasonable and the staff seemed accommodating when they were present. We didn't spend a lot of time in our rooms so they were good enough for...

It's small, but it has everything you need. Microwave, frig, comfortable bed, clean shower, and friendly staff. This is not for the spoiled or ungrateful, but I think that it is still a great quality motel. It's in the middle of nowhere, but it's conveniently the only motel/hotel in town.. so you have to like it lol.. All jokes aside,...

Just spent a week at the Prairie Winds Motel ( June 14-21). The price was great compared to other motels. Our room was large with a large bathroom and shower. Had plenty of hot water with good pressure. The owner/manager was very pleasant. We highly recommend this motel to anyone going to this area. We will stay here again if...

I lived in Carthage until early 1981, this Motel had a restaurant and banquet room at that time. They are now closed, that is about all that has changed at this Motel. It is pretty clean, but, bring your own shampoo and bath bar size soap. The price is terrific though, I paid $44 for a night. No queen or...

Found the Prairie Winds Motel on-line when planning our trip. The prices couldn't be beat. Was pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. Very spacious and clean. Much better than the chain hotels. Very laid back atmosphere. The big plus, the bathroom was almost spotless, the shower had great water pressure. Will definitely stay there again if in the...

This was the second time we stayed at this motel. We got a much different room than the first time. The carpeting was nasty. It was vacuumed, but dirty old brown sculptured carpet. Yuk! The bedspreads were very worn. One chair looked like a hot iron had been dropped on it and burnt a hole in the fabric. The bathroom...

This is an old school cinder block motel like the kind my family always stayed in when I was young. The bathroom was very clean for a building this old. The sheets were clean but the bedspreads were old and worn and were the greatest detriment to the appearance of the room. The management should really invest in new ones....
