The rooms are very spacious and clean, though they're dated. If you want privacy, make sure to ask for a room that doesn't face the atrium, otherwise your windows open up to the lobby/atrium area.

I don't know how close they are, but if you're not from Chicago you have to try Gino's, Giordano's, or Lou Malinatis pizza. The atrium has a great area for something like that but I didn't bring food in there.
