Galena lodge is a wonderful place to get away from the tourist trap of Sun Valley. It's gorgeous up here. We took a two hour snowshoe tour with Bella. She was great. I plan to come back someday and take a Nordic lesson. Great rental shop, nice cafeteria, great $8 round trip bus ride from Ketchum.

We had a wonderful day Nordic skiing at this historic site. The trails were perfectly groomed and provided terrain for all skill levels. The staff were welcoming and very helpful and the lodge itself as lovely place to sit by the fire and relax after an outing. The food looked delicious.

Just 30 minutes north of Ketchum on Hwy 75 is, in my opinion the best place to spend a day Nordic Skiing in the Valley. With over 25 km of trails (in addition to access to an additional 30 km that heads south toward the SNRA) there is truly something for every skill level. If you don't have your own...

Put Galena Lodge on your must-visit list if ever in the Sun Valley area. The snowshoeing and x-country skiing trails are amazing and the countryside gorgeous. We chose a picture picture blue-sky day and had an amazing time traipsing around the backcountry on easy-to-manage trails. Afterwards, do plan on having lunch and a drink as their food is delicious, the...

Visited the lodge for a wedding and was impressed by the venue. Beautiful meadow overlooking the mountains a short walk from the actual lodge and road. Easy up hill walk of 10 minutes okay for all ages. The lodge itself is rustic but comfortable. Good food, nice staff and a sizeable parking lot make this an excellent venue for future...

We drove from Ketchum to this beautiful Lodge with the advice from a gentleman at the local coffee shop. Beautiful drive and found this rustic lodge in a beautiful setting. The food was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. It appeared to be a local hot spot and we could see why.

We had a good time tromping around in our snowshoes. We brought our own gear so payed a $5 fee to use the trails. There are plenty of snowshoe trails to choose from and they're all groomed. But if you like walking in deep snow, you'll have to make your own way. These trails were so used and packed I...

When staying in Sun Valley, summer or winter, head north 30 miles to the Galena Lodge. In summer, great hiking. In winter, great X-country skiing and snow shoeing. All year round, great food and hospitality. The drive there and beyond to Galena Summit overlooking the Salmon River Valley is beautiful. Use Galena Lodge as a destination or a stop along...

I love everything about Galena Lodge ~ the charming, old log building, the wonderful soups, the stunning, groomed cross-country ski trails, the friendly staff and volunteers, the cozy yurts (complete with sauna) and the usually sunny, blue-bird days. Two nights ago friends and I were skiing under the full moon. Magical.

Nice place to stop and enjoy the scenery, get warm, have beer, coffee or tea. And grab a bite to eat or go to the little gift shop. We came with a large group. I didn't eat but everyone else had something and they liked the food. Stop and have a look if you are in the area.

“We stayed in the Star Yurt. It can sleep eight people, but we had a group of six, and that was the perfect size...I think, with eight people, it may be a bit crowded. It was fun to take a sauna after a moonlight ski.”
