Beautiful views of the Sawtooth Mountains. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Owner is a stickler for not allowing friends to visit, share a meal using the grills, or tables and chairs. He could have been much more accommodating. Owner's wife (Co-owner perhaps) was quite pleasant when making up the rooms and arranged the children's toys on the beds. Very cute.

Yes, our facilities are for our registered guests. No, we do not allow a group of a dozen persons from outside to come and have a gathering or picnic here. We cater to our registered guests.

If you are looking for a place in Stanley, you will not go wrong with the Valley Creek Lodge. The rooms are very clean, spacious and have an incredible view of the Sawtooths. The Mayor of Stanley and his wife own and run the Lodge and they are very friendly and helpful. It's a great place to base yourself as...

Stanley was our second stop on our tour of North West USA. This park was very basic and had only minimum number of parking bays for RVs. As we had booked it early we could get one. They have no public showers or free WiFi. Maybe they are concentrating on the rooms and cabins than the RV customers.

We have had free WiFi since 2004 for both our RV and Lodge guests. A lighted LED sign above the office door advises everyone who walks in that we have free high speed (10 meg) internet access. It is a shame that the reviewer didn't realize that they had access to free WiFi, nor did they ask. We concentrate on...

Clean, well-maintained motel. But $125 per night for a Mom and Pop motel? No breakfast, no coffee, thin walls. Stanley seemed to me to be a scruffy town with scruffy restaurants and expensive lodging. Beautiful scenery, but maybe better to bring your own food and tent and camp in this area.

This place exceeded my expectations. There is a nice front and back porch for each room. Outside, I found wooden chairs and a picnic table set up by the river for maximum chillaxing. I was able to sit outside on a beautiful summer evening and enjoy the full moon in complete peace. How often can you say that? The room...

Overall nice clean room with great views. Great spot to watch sunset near creek behind motel. Bring your wine! Walls are not sound proof so it can get a little loud but wasn't too bad for us. Nice place to stay while you explore the Stanley, Idaho area.

The room was nice and clean with a kitchenette and large bedroom, but the noise was terrible. We were on the 1st floor and we could not only hear the people upstairs walking around we could hear them talking. Someone upstairs got up at 2 am and walked around so loudly it woke us up and kept us up most...

Stayed 3 nights with my wife. (Room 4, second floor) Large room with kitchenette, equipped with a nice assortment of the basics including a fridge and small microwave and small dining table. The beds were comfortable and the views were excellent. There is a narrow deck outback connecting all the rooms providing a nice place to sit. Tables and chairs...

We have made a substantial improvement to the WiFi since your stay. There is now a repeater on the lodge building which supplies a strong signal throughout the rooms in the building. Guests can choose between SSIDs of "Valley Creek" or "Valley Creek Repeater" whichever gives them the stronger signal for the location where they are using the WiFi.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in July. We loved the views, and watched wildlife from the deck each evening. The room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed visiting with our hostess each day, and appreciated that the location was just outside of town. We would recommend it to anyone.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. That is what we strive for. Technically we are inside of town (inside of the Stanley City limits), but as you noted we are in a quiet area of the town, just far enough away from the city center and associated activities. Thank you.

I passed through Stanley on a cross country road trip and pulled into town at dusk to find this one of the only open accommodations. As others have said, this hotel is run by a couple who live in the house/office adjoining the property. The wife is very friendly and helpful. The husband is a bit gruff, but managed to...

Mr Gruff speaking, just wanted to clarify that the RVs occupy RV spots on the north edge of the property. They are at least as appreciative of the peace and quiet as are the lodge guests, so noise from the RV guests has not been a problem. If it ever is, just let Mr. Gruff know and he will speak...
