Great room! Excellent view. AMAZING service. Food was awesome. Rain at the front counter went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. She is truly a GEM. All staff we met had a smile on their face, and wanted to know if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. We will be back!!
This hotel is right on the beach area and appeared to be the only hotel on the beach. It was walking distance to the restaurants in town, the beach, playground and trails. They had a nice continental breakfast with hot egg/sausage sandwiches, fruit, bars, coffee, tea, muffins. The indoor pool and hot tub and gym was better looking in person than in pictures. I would recommend the ground floor room as you can walk straight out to the beach/water. We had a king suite and regular 2 queen bed room. Both had microwave and refrigerator which was unexpected. My only complaint is that they did not have beach chairs available or for rental. We purchased cheap chairs from Walmart and just left them at the front desk to give to someone else to use as we were flying home. The restaurant was very good but closed on Tues/Wed as most places were in Sandpoint. There were signs on the doors indicating they were closed due to a shortage of employees. …
The hotel offers a great location right on the lake, with views of mountains all around, beach, easy bike and walking trails super close by, one block to downtown shops and restaurants. The nearby train tracks that seemed so loud outside were barely noticed in our room. All this was great, but the staff were the best, going above and beyond! We would definitely stay here again.
You literally couldn’t ask for a better setting. Great views, @ City Park, right on Lake Pend Oreille. That’s where the positives end. Outdated & dirty. Staff seems to dislike guests, very rude & unpleasant. Checked into a room w/ Cheetos all over the floor & grimey bathroom. When I told front desk, she just looked @ me & said, “That’s too bad”, then went on w/ her life… that basically sums up the entire stay. Great views tho & Sandpoint is lovely.
Well, I reviewed this hotel a few times over the past 30 years. The hotel didn't change. The rooms are outdated and old. Our curtain was ripped in two spots and looked terrible. Not sure what's happening with this property, but I hope the new owners take the responsibility and remodel the rooms or bulldoze it down and build new. On a positive, the lake views are great and a short walk to downtown
Wonderful view of the lake and mountains from the room makes a stay here good, but room furniture and furnishings old and stale, lighting dim, need new hangers. Walking distance to shops and restaurants in town. Good size pool. Walking path along the lake, accessible to the beach.
This is the shoddiest hotel I have ever stayed at. The room smelled, was dirty, the door partially broken, the furniture dusty, the sheets and bedding stained. The mattresses springs poked through and should have been replaced ages ago. The carpet was dirty, the breakfast did not include coffee and was only packaged processed garbage. This hotel is close to being uninhabitable. I was fairly certain we would leave with bed bugs. For the price I was charged for this experience I had to leave an honest review. It was so disappointing and just gross.
Made a last minute decision to stay based on trip advisor reviews, and was so glad I did! This BW is located at City Beach. My room had a balcony and lovely view of the adjoining lake and mountains. Biggest surprise was dinner at the in-house restaurant - exceptional menu! The salmon ND from-scratch calm chowder were exceptional, as was the wait staff. Thenspring pice point and lack of crowds made this stay memorable. Doubt I would have been nearly as impressed in summer...
After reading some of the reviews, I was more than a little cautious. In fact, when I got into town, I looked over the property before making my reservation from the parking lot. First Concern - Front Desk - Evelyn was kind friendly, and recommended a great place for dinner - 2nd Ave. Pizza. I would go there again too! Second Concern - Rooms - They were neat, clean, and comfortable. Beds were comfy too. Third Concern - Over all - Great! I forgot a comb for my hair. Paulette (front desk in the morning) got me a comb AND when I returned to check out - Complimented me on my HAIR. Thanks Paulette Fourth Concern - Personnel / Manager - The cleaning staff were friendly and visited with me. I met Emily, the Manager when I checked out. Emily is great! She shared with me that the property was due for a remodel, but with ...you know the routine, it has been pushed back. Remodel or no remodel, I would stay at the Edgewater Resort in a heartbeat! Great view, clean rooms, friendly staff, and good value. What more could you want?…
The beds are poor quality and super uncomfortable. A hotel should make sure above all else the beds and pillows are high quality, comfortable, and regularly replaced. In a business where a place to sleep is the main purpose this should be priority.
