A superlative experience. We were blessed with a few days of absolutely brilliant sunshine and the mountains were reflected in the Loch as it glistened at the edge of the garden. The house occupies a quiet and secluded spot just outside the village. The gardens and grounds are beautifully maintained. The accommodation is refined in every way. The fittings and... More

Driving the roads from Edinburgh and Inverness provide for stunning scenery, with a warm welcome at Drumbeg House. Beautiful location by a loch, and adjacent to the sea, Anne and Eddie are great hosts. My evening meals on both nights were superbly tasty, with portions to match. Upon request, Anne kindly prepared a delicious Victoria Sponge cake, so gratefully appreciated... More

A friend had been here and said it was wonderful. It was better than that. A breathtakingly beautiful location providing peace and relaxation. Eddie and Anne are a unique couple, well travelled and full of fascinating conversation. Supremely comfortable room but the highlight has to be the food - a labour of love from Anne who created a menu specially... More

We had three nights at this wonderful hotel and felt honoured to be there. The building is an old house with a modern, light and airy interior. The place is filled with art of all types which caught your eye at different times. Eddie was an excellent artist and art teacher and has a great eye. The taste in the... More

You will find no finer than this. Anne & Eddie Strachan converted this 1903 laird's house into a contemporary styled 5-star restaurant with 4 rooms, and there are also 2 larch-clad, self-catering studio lodges. We stayed in one of the lodges but ate in the house as my birthday treat. Anne is a passionate chef who uses the freshest, finest... More

While on a gourmet tour of Scotland, we had a night to spare before heading for the Summer Isles Hotel. I found out about Blar na Leisg through a guidebook and gave them a call. Instructions included driving for twenty minutes on a single track road, dodging sheep and cows, reaching an area so remote there wasn't any mobile phone... More

We've always thought that the best places were the hardest to get to. In far northwest Scotland at the end of a roller coaster 9 mile road we found one of the best imaginable spots to enjoy geniune Scotland. Blar na Leisg is an old house that has been completely redone in a very modern architectural style, 4 bedrooms with... More

Wow, what a location! Anne and Eddie only opened in May this year, after they had redone the whole place completely. The pictures on the internet site don't lie. The rooms are very comfy and beautifully furnished. Everywhere Eddie's art can be admired - a real treat for those who set value on an environment like this (we do!). Anne's... More
