Myself and 4 others went for Spring Bear at Silver Spur Lodge and Outfitters. Expectations were blown out of the water with the trip and experience we had. We all saw bears, with 3 of us sealing the deal and taking home some quality bears. The two that didn't are planning on coming back in the fall to try again....

In 2014 3 friends and I used a Silver Spur's Drop Camp and killed a NICE 6x7 elk. 2015 saw 3 of us, in the same Drop Camp, kill two 5x5 Bulls. Same quality camp on a bugle rifle hunt. Horses and mules were gentle and reliable. The packers were hard working and knowledgeable. Two years and 3 elk, not...

We returned this season after having such a successful season in 2014. Our expectations were met again this year with two out of three hunters harvesting bull elk.. We spent nine days in the Selway Wilderness, hunting hard every day. Here, we had a better than 50% success rate. Elk hunting harvest is an average of 11%. We feel if...

Three of us went on a diy drop camp in the Nez Perce National forest. The camp was in a great location and was well equipped. The stock we rode was well taken care of. The packers were great and the owner was very helpful. We were very fortunate and harvested Two elk. The packers were able to get the...

Lodge room and food second to none. Horses, packers and camp were all super. Best drop camp I have been at in my 57 years. Lots of wildlife including nice elk. Rick and Deb are very professional and make sure you have everything needed to make your stay enjoyable. If you want solitude, peace and quiet, this is the place....

Our group of four motorcyclists stumbled on this place while avoiding (yet) another cheap hotel stay about 40 miles away. We diverted our route to stay at the Silver Spur, and all agree it was one of the wisest choices made on our adventure. The hosts, Deb and Rick, welcomed us and made us feel at home- an accurate description...

I'll try to be as brief as possible. If you are looking for a hunting outfitter in Idaho, go elsewhere. Our Elk, Deer and Bear hunt was one of the biggest disappointments of my adult life. We were lied to, swindled, laughed at and made fools of. We were a group of 8 guys looking to do a semi-DIY elk...

Honestly, the other review on this site makes me a little upset- I just left the Silver Spur and had the absolute time of my life! The staff and other hunters became like a second family to me- and myself and the other two hunters I came with left with great bears! Fabulous food and rooms- the other review is...

Checked-in to find dirty linen beds. Ten bedrooms with two small bathrooms and a single small shower with a note saying "DO NOT TAKE LONG SHOWERS". Rooms were divided via a single sheet of flimsy paneling. Listening to the couple 4 rooms away snoring was quite uncomfortable. Meals were tastey but very limited; no choices and definetaly no seconds. If...
