We decided to stop, on our travel from Los Angeles, in Couer d'Alene for the day. By a stroke of luck and a few wise presses on our phone, we found Blackwell Hotel and decided to stay for the day.

We stayed for our 25th anniversary in room 3 with a king bed, fireplace and big bathroom. We loved it--beautiful appointments, friendly staff, and superb continental breakfast including frittata. It was the best bed and breakfast for value we've stayed in.

Thank you so much for celebrating this special date with us! We hope you return for your 26th!

The rooms are very nice, Restored Victorian with a professional staff. Would be a great place for weddings. Nice grounds and 2 fireplaces in lobby, Breakfast was above typical lodging and well prepared.

We arrived at this hotel aug 9th in 40 degree weather. There is NO air conditioning. We were told to open the window! What good does that do when it is so hot? Not only that, the windows have no screens. No refrigeration for a cold drink either. The proprietor refused any discount or refund due to the heat, as we could not even sit in room. We were stuck paying the outrageous price of this nasty over priced hotel.
