We spent a week at Domu Antiga in late October and only have good words to say about it. Location (Gergei) is good for exploring southern and central part of Sardinia. The village itself is small, quiet and authentic. It was pretty cool to be woken up by a rooster every morning. Don't worry by the way - it was... More

Domu Antiga is a tastefully renovated farmhouse in the (very) quiet village of Gergei. Excellent hospitality, reasonable breakfasts, and tasty dinners. Excellent value. The only caveat is keep your windows closed at night with the air con on - neighbouring dogs love to bark at each other during the night. Recommended!

We spent long weekend at this B&B in Gergei. What can I say? As many already mentioned, the house is beautifully restored, comfortable and big rooms. What this place makes even more special is the passion of the family who runs this B&B! You could feel family is passionate about what they do and hospitality is in their blood. We... More

A simple yet beautiful home in the heart of the Sardinian rolling countryside, ideally suited to explore archeological sites and small villages. Delicious home cooked breakfast and dinner on charming patio in lovely secret garden. This is a family home and the owners greet you with the warmest welcome.

This is a lovely, peaceful B&B in a picturesque village with very friendly and welcoming hosts. The breakfast was absolutely amazing (see photo) and the rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. We also ate an enormous home cooked evening meal there, which at 26 euros each including wine and liqueurs was good value and delicious. We could have stayed much... More

We loved our stay here. The room was very big and very comfortable. I highly recommend staying for the dinner prepared by the owner's mother, who is very talented. The hotel is wonderfully restored and decorated, we had a most relaxing evening on the lawn. The breakfast is top notch and everything is made from scratch. The owner and his... More

This is an outstanding place. An old restored building, it has tons of charm but at the same time it is still very confortable. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, baby cot provided, Wifi strong. Nice green lawn and seating outside, a real little oasis in the middle of dried out Sardinia. The owner is very friendly... More

The room was very cosy and nicely restaurated. The dinner and breakfast is prepared by owner and made of local specialities and products. The hospitality of the owner is remarkable and coming from the heart. We had a wonderful stay there and enjoyed every moment.

We stayed at Domu Antiga last May 29: we were amazingly surprised by the enchanting home, completely refurbished with lovely blue wooden blinds. Very tasteful bedroom, simple but so cosy and warm, I fell in love with it. The garden is a peaceful heaven for an evening beer and for breakfast, which is also very good, with local products. Very... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Small but stylish village B&B in Sardinia's rural interior, with bountiful breakfasts, great rates and warm hospitality Beauty, serenity and an elegant restoration in the heart of old Sardinia. White pendant lamps hang from high sloping beams in the old loggia, and local bread and cheese (the best) are brought to the check-cloth table. Opened in 2013 in the little cobbled village of Gergei, this 3-bedroom B&B, managed by generous Arnaldo and his English-speaking son Samuel, is a perfect reconstruction of a 19th-century farmhouse - a stylish slice of paradise behind high stone walls. The local area, a sparsely populated wilderness of olive groves, crags, gorges and megalithic towers, offers some of the most exciting history - and hiking - in Europe; you can read all about it from the big red sofa in the lounge or a chair in the garden. A short drive away is the hilltop World Heritage site of Su Nuraxi, the most famous Nuraghic settlement on the island, dating from 1500BC and with huge views across the plains - breathtaking. Then it's home to whitewashed walls and terracotta floors, logs crackling invitingly in the corner, antique dressers holding country china, and beautiful bedrooms with chunky rafters and embroidered linen. There are bountiful breakfasts to wake up to - "the best in Sardinia", say guests - and authentic pizzas a short stroll down the road. We have yet to visit, but by all accounts we're in for a treat when we do. ... more   less
