Staff friendly. Was so glad they told me about the bat boxes, very interesting to watch at dusk. They do need more bat boxes and the gnats/mosquitos were horrible. Campground was average. Dump station in need of repair, sewage backs up when dumping, maybe not each time, but..... It was a usual day when most campers leave/dump, but the system...

The staff is very nice and helpful, however, unfortunately a storm and/or pine beetles have devastated much of the forestation. I found the restrooms and bath house to be spotless and we did enjoy our stay. Senior discount was extremely helpful for us, though.

We stayed there in a cottage for Spring Break last week. It was beautiful! The park was spacious and had many trails to bike and hike. The cottage itself was beautifully remodeled and very clean! The fort was very interesting and our kids loved learning all the history behind it and exploring the grounds. There were several deer wandering around...

My husband, myself and our 7 children stayed at Fort McAllister as a stopover on our drive north. I made reservations online, and was required to make a two night minimum reservation, although we were only going to stay one night. That is how it is for all GA state parks (and SC), unfortunately. A campsite with electric and water...

This campground was sure at one time nice and pristine. But a storm have thorned down the area. What's left at thios moment is pretty basic. Futhermore, the cost for tent is prohibitive for 1 night : 28$ + 5$ for vehicle = 33$ for one dry camping night. The restrooms in the tent section are not well maintained, nor...

The car show was supposed to be from 11-3. We paid the fee and got there at 1pm. 75% of the cars were gone and within 10mins after being there they all left. Horrible information on Facebook-don't say there's a car show till 3pm when there's not. The property was beautiful but the state park is overpriced. Just to go...

Nice camping sites, clean bathrooms, and beautiful views across the marsh. Camp sites were shaded and well-maintained. Our family enjoyed catching catfish off the pier on the river. We visited in February and plan to visit again in April.

There are both indoor and outdoor exhibits at this park. We enjoyed them both, but the outdoor exhibits were special. We were given a brochure for a self-guided tour, which was easy to follow and informative. Because of damage from Hurricane Matthew, a few of the points were inaccessible, but that really didn't detract from the overall tour. Recommend!

This place is so relaxing and beautiful- we went the first weekend they opened after being closed due to Hurricane Matthew- There were a lot of trees down but it was still very beautiful. I liked that the tent only camping was in a different location than the RV camping. All camping spots are within a nice stroll of the...

We were visiting Savannah and wanted to get out of the city an see the country side (we call it getting the flavor of the area) and stumbled onto Fort McAllister. We wandered around the day park and then went into the museum and fort, what a nice surprise. The museum is free to the public and explains in great...
