I have been to Callaway before, but not to spend the night. We stayed 2 notes and had a lovely stay the weekend after Labor Day. The room was very nice and spacious with a woods view. However, the balconies are about only 5 feet...More
We live on the east coast of Florida. Last year, in order to escape Matthew, we stayed at Callaway Gardens and it turned into a wonderful impromptu vacation. The staff went above and beyond to make all the evacuees and their pets feel at home....More
We stayed over Labor Day Weekend 2017 and with a primary interest in the Hot Air Balloon's / Car Show / Fireworks / Pool time. Unfortunately we didn't see many of the exhibits or golf so I can't comment on those items.

First of all Callaway Gardens is beautiful, Pine Moutain, Ga. is like Mayberry, very nice people but not a lot to do. We went for the Hot Air Balloon Festival, I was underwhelmed, to say the least. a grand total of 12 balloons that went...More
My family and I went there for the annual balloon festival. While the festival was kind of a let down (overblown for a mediocre ride experience) the Gardens were fabulous. We enjoyed several presentations, including an interactive Birds of Prey show, and a fantastic show...More

If I were staying with that group I would definitely get the cabin. You can fix some of your food and really save some of the money you spend on the cabin by doing that. It is just so much nicer with a group to get to be together day and night. You might want to pick up some of the logs to lite if you want a fire. They have some firewood supplied but it is so much easier if you have the prepared ones all you have to do is light the match. If you don't have the prepared logs bring some paper or gather twigs to start it. Some of the cabins have 2 fireplaces. You get access to the Gardens with your stay at the cabin. Staying in a cabin with a group is just so much better. I have done both so I can say for sure.

Hi. Thank you for your question. Traditionally, the peak of azaleas is around the last week of March and the first two weeks of April. However, weather over the past 10 months plays a big part of that. Another "traditional" observation is that the later Easter is ... the later peak occurs. This year Easter is April 16th - so that is a little later in Spring. But, we do feature an "Azalea Watch" on our website and often post pictures on our social media pages - so stay on the lookout. We hope you are able to visit! And, thank you for the question.
