Detailed Reviews
I booked a 4 nights stay plus 3 evening dinners, this was to give my partner a little boost after a very difficult time, it turned out to be the best decision i could have made it was wonderful. The whole team from the owners to every member of staff did everything possible to provide a safe environment in these difficult times.
Breakfast & Evening Dinner were of the highest quality served by the best staff you could imagine, our room was spotless such a comfy bed. The staff seem to be so happy at their work that makes for a lovely warm atmosphere and give the guests such a pleasant stay, and yes my partner had a wonderful stay and it was lovely to see him smile.
THANKS TO YOU ALL

Hi Ann & Nick and a million thanks for your wonderfully kind words. We are absolutely delighted that you both enjoyed your little Killarney break so well, and that it gave you the boost that you both so much needed and deserved. It was our pleasure to welcome you and to look after you - and we were saying shortly after you left us that there was going to be lots of joy and laughter when you met up with Gina and Sophie at the end of your trip.....! Thanks again and we hope to welcome you back to us here in the Killeen House at some future stage. Geraldine, Michelle and all the team.

I had a fantastic stay at Killeen House in July. Perfect for hiking Carrauntoohil or just visiting the area.
Greeted at the door with a welcoming temperature check, I couldn't have been made to feel any more relaxed & in safe hands by Michelle Rosney & all the staff.
Refreshments delivered to the room on arrival, Epson Bath, thee most beautiful dinner & drinks, finished this morning with a breakfast fit for a mountain goat.
Cannot tell how fantastic the food & service is at their restaurant, Rozzers A-MAZ-ING! Top notch!! You just HAVE to go try it out for yourself!
THANK YOU so so much & I look forward to returning in the very near future.

Where do I start!
Food. This is not your standard “breakfast included” fare: The breakfast menu is EXTENSIVE and everything is delicious! Rozzers restaurant in the Killeen House is absolutely exceptional - do NOT miss out on getting a dinner reservation there.
Rooms. Beds are sooo comfy. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathrooms are beautiful, with great water pressure in the shower.
Staff. Michelle is brilliant. Welcoming, witty, and helpful. She took care of setting up an amazing Gap of Dunloe tour for us, and gave us great recommendations for other activities to do. She’s also never short on banter and laughs. John (bartender) is fun and knowledgeable - recommended a wine so perfect for us that we got 2 bottles over the course of our stay. The rest of the waitstaff is also amazing - they never make you feel rushed, and they’re all super friendly.
I can’t say enough good things. Staying at Killeen House feels like visiting family, except the only baggage involved is the luggage you’ve brought on your trip. This is my second stay there, and I can’t wait for the next time I’m back!

In September 2021 my husband and I made our 9th visit to the Killeen House. This is our destination when we visit Ireland!!! It is a magical place for many reasons. Geraldine, Michelle, Chef Paul, Val, John, and the entire staff are unparalleled in creating a magical, perfect experience. The hospitality extended to each guest is exceptional and will not be equalled anywhere else. The restaurant has been awarded the number one fine dining restaurant in Ireland in TripAdvisor’s annual Traveller's Choice Awards 2021. The food is exquisite. Chef Paul is a genius. The setting and the facilities are fairy tale worthy. The Killeen House is a boutique hotel spotlessly clean with flowers everywhere, beautifully decorated, with the best water pressure anywhere, overlooking a pastoral scene that is quintessential Ireland. Thank you Geraldine and Michael. You have created an experience of beauty and serenity and perfection like none other. The Killeen House Hotel and Rozzers Restaurant is definitely a bucket list destination and one we yearn to revisit as soon as we leave.

How can we even begin to respond to a review like this.... You are not guests... You are not friends... You are family! It's been a long and enjoyable journey for us here in the Killeen House over the years and both of you have been a wonderful part of much of that journey. It is you and so many others like you, that make us the people we are and the place we are. And even though you have been with us for extended stays on nine different occasions, every time you come back to us is almost like the first time all over again, such is your joy and enthusiasm.... There is still so much more you to see and do ("Show me that littler lamb for a picture opportunity, Mister Griffin"!) Stay safe, stay healthy, winter well, and see you for Visit Number Ten, please God, in '22. Geraldine and Michelle (And that other old guy who occasionally hangs around there....)

Having visited Killeen House Hotel with a group of friends this week, I highly recommend this venue for it's location, comfort and hospitality. The hosts Geraldine and Michelle are so genuinely friendly and very professional, the staff in the bar and dining room were efficient and helpful. All covid regulations were adhered to which was very reassuring to all the guests. The rooms were of a high standard, comfortable and clean with large power showers and were very spacious. The high point of our stay was the food in Rozzers restaurant.. great menu with lots of choice, every meal was delicious. Breakfast also offered lots of choice and was cooked to perfection. This hotel is great value for money and a great place to stay for anyone looking to explore Killarney or for a quiet getaway with the added bonus of a fantastic restaurant!

Honour, thank you very much for this amazing review of your recent Killeen House experience, we really appreciate it. It was a pleasure to welcome your group of ladies and to look after you all. You mentioned our food, our service and the water pressure in our showers... For 30 years now, these three things have been the foundation of our business. We figure that if we get these three areas right, then we have automatically eliminated over 90% of all possible items of complaint or dissatisfaction. (If we could control the weather - we'd be totally sorted!). Thanks again for the great review Honor, and we hope you'll all visit us again at some future stage. Geraldine & Michelle.

We spent a fantastic 4 nights in this wonderful property. From arrival the welcome was truly Kerry. Shown to a lovely room that was clean, comfortable and had really comfy beds. The restaurant was par excellence. A superb menu that made choosing a meal a challenge. The food was well presented, cooked as requested and top quality produce. The waiting staff matched the high standard that this hotel sets. They were attentive, professional and pleasant. Always on hand for advice and encouragement to enjoy this magical county. The cleanliness of the property was noted every part of this hotel was spotlessly clean. Housekeeping staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much of an effort.
Proprietor Geraldine Rosney and her lovely daughter Michelle were on hand morning, noon and night to look after their guests, offering advice on places to visit, suitable wear for walking etc. A one stop tourism office!
I look forward to returning to the Killeen House Hotel

My husband booked a table by email for the 2 of us a few weeks ago. From the moment he received a response from Geraldine to confirm the booking we knew a warm welcome awaited us. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly staff member who went through the new procedures due to covid. We were left in no doubt that we were in very safe hands. Plenty of space between tables, staff wearing visors, hand sanitisers and temperature checks at the door. We ordered glazed pork belly and a house salad as starters, followed by fillet of beef, and bakewell tart and chocolate oreo cheesecake for dessert. Each course was gobbled up and if we could have licked the plates clean without looking greedy we would have. Well done to Geraldine and all her lovely staff. We will be back next year.

Thank you so muh for your kind and thorough review! We spent a lot of time working on our COVID-19 guidelines and to hear that you felt safe is the best thing we could possibly hear. And it's just the icing on the cake (or maybe I should say glazing on the pork...?!) to hear that you loved your dinner with us. We have absolutely no problem in the world with our guests licking their plates. Thankfully because of our Head Chef Paul and his magic in the kitchen empty plates coming back into the kitchen is a common sight! Delighted to hear that you will be back and we look forward to welcoming you Take care Geraldine, Michelle & Team

We had the pleasure of staying at the Killeen House hotel last weekend with our extended family for a family occasion. It was indeed a very memorable occasion made all the more special by the hospitality we experienced. From the beginning when we arrived last Friday we were warmly greeted by Michelle. We had a family dinner on Friday night with a room specifically reserved for ourselves and many of the extended family myself included, said we had never tasted nicer food. It was amazing! I must say that the staff were so nice and made us feel so comfortable and special mention to Geraldine who went above and beyond in making sure that everything was in order for us and she even found time to show my two young sons the live lobsters which they were truly enthralled with! Nothing was a problem for Geraldine and she facilitated an early breakfast for a no of us as we headed off to climb Carrauntohil on Sat morning. Very special mention to John as well who was so friendly and patient with our young son and despite being so busy coming in and out of the bar greeted him , much to his delight , with “Hey Dude” each time. It was a really nice touch and my 4 year old son is still going on about it! Special mention to the waitress that served our table that night but unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. We had a memorable stay here and couldn’t recommend Killeen House Hotel highly enough and will definitely be back. Take a collective bow Killeen House Hotel for making our stay so memorable.

What a stupendous review... A million thanks for taking the time to write it and post it up here on Trip Advisor. We really do appreciate it, because it's always nice to get positive feedback, and more importantly, because so many people are guided to a place (or away from a place!) by the reviews it receives. Valerie and Izabel are the ladies who look after all our guests in Rozzers, and we couldn't be happier with them or proud of them for the way in which they welcome and serve our guests. It was totally our pleasure to look after such a lovely family - even the really nice and well-behaved 'Young Dude'....! John says he should come back and work with us in the Killeen House when he grows up! Thanks again for the really kind words and all the best. Geraldine & Michelle.

We were just so well looked after during our stay. This hotel is just so lovely , cosy and elegant. Geraldine and Michelle could not do enough for us. When you book a hotel at a great rate in Killarney , you have a certain level of expectation but our expectations were greatly exceeded. The restaurant is one of the best in Ireland and is the best I have ever dined in. There was even a room to dry off our golf clubs! I hope to go back to Killeen House hotel very soon. And one more thing – we felt very safe at all times… all COVID-19 guidelines are adhered to by staff and management.

Hi Patrick Thank you for your review. We really appreciate your comments on our COVID-19 safety guidelines. As we all know it’s a very important factor to con sider when choosing where to travel so hearing that you and your family felt safe is music to our ears. We hate to break it to you - but you're not special because we treat EVERYONE like a VIP here at Killeen House Hotel and Rozzers Restaurant Patrick...!! And we are delighted that you got to use our drying room. Its definitely not as much in demand as it was in previous years but we are hopeful that those days will come back in the not too distant future… Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming you back All the best Geraldine, Michelle & Team

Myself and my partner spent two nights in the picturesque Kileen House Hotel.
We were greeted by John a very friendly and helpful staff member on arrival who even carried my bags to the room. Our Room was clean bright and had an terrific power shower, later we dined in Rozzers Restaurant where Michelle kept the crack flowing as she advised us on the menu and it definitely did not disappoint, 5 star food and the service was exceptional with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Geraldine who also advised us on excursions and other things to do really goes the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant and as enjoyable as possible, she’s a diamond in the industry and I the chef Paul definitely deserves a mention. This team could really teach so many other hotels how to add those hidden touches and extra help that don’t cost a cent but makes all the difference.
Excellent value for money
We will be back .
Thank you Team ❤️

Hi Alida and thank you for this question. Yes, all eight of our Championship (or superior) bedrooms have a king-size double and and a twin (single) bed in them. We can also have a configuration on request of three twin beds, and each room had ample space for a rollaway bed and or a crib (cot).
Hi girls and the compliments of the Season to you and yours and all in Baton Rouge!
Is that Inverness in Scotland you mean?
If so, I'm sorry I can't help you.
What I know about Scotland, I could write on the back of a postage stamp with a paintbrush!
Anything about Ireland and I'm an expert, but for anywhere else I'm a dodo.....!
Anyways, if you were REALLY smart ladies, you'd forget Scotland and come back to us!
God bless you all and keep very well.
Michael.
I know even though we had a car at night the owner would get us a cab to go into town so I could drink and not have to drive. I would imagine that he could provide transportation into town for you to get the tour bus
Hi and thank you for your enquiry.
The Killeen House is located in beautiful Aghadoe, just about a 10 to 15 minute drive from Killarney Railway Station.
The only way to get to us is via taxi. They meet guests off every train, and cost approx. EURO 12.00 to 15.00 for the 15 minutes or so drive to the Killeen House.
Getting to Kenmare, your options are either by taxi, public bus or else by hiring a driver/guide for the day.
I hope this answers your question, and please come on back to us if we can help or assist you in any other way.
Thankd again and all the best.
Michael.
