Very nice place. Hosts were very nice but did not try to intrude. Food was good. Building was exceptional and a real treat to see. Many interesting things to see in the area. Beautiful forest. Red cockcade woodpeckers. Convenient to Macon and Forsyth both of which have good resturants with fairly priced food. Anyone with any interest in 19th century...

Phil & Amelia are direct descendants of the plantation owners. Interesting period pieces and great stories from the family's past. On arrival, Amelia gave us tour of the whole house. And Phil walked us through the property in the morning. Both are remarkable storytellers. Room is very spacious, clean & fun. Solid pinewood interior gives the house a uniquely pleasant...

A lovely place with an history of it's own ,and this there's plenty of history here. We relaxed and really enjoyed our stay. And the best breakfasts I ever had(and this coming from professional chef in NY at a three star restaurant) time permitting will go back to visit again.

My husband and I took a weekend getaway to The Jarrell House and loved our visit. All of the wood for the house was cut on the property, the rooms are spacious, and the hosts are delightful. Just sitting on the porch with Cream Soda and cookies was relaxing and Sunday breakfast was a real treat. Included was a free...

My family and I stayed for a nght at the Jarrell House and loved it! The house is chock full of history as Amelia and Phil have preserved every bit of it possible! My mother, sister and I spent a 3 day weekend at the Jarrell House and loved it for its history, charm and beauty. Amelia and Phil are gracious hosts and made us feel right at home. There was plenty for us to do (toured Juliette and ate fried green tomatoes; drove through beautiful forest lands; ate dinner at Grits Cafe...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Near Juliette, Ga. Where much of the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed. The Jarrell 1920 House was part of the original Jarrell family farm, now known as Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 5,000 square-foot house has been preserved in its original condition with interior walls and ceilings of beautiful heart pine -- from trees felled on Jarrell land, sawn to size on the Jarrell sawmill, and assembled by Jarrell hands. Most of the 19th and early 20th century furniture is still preserved in its original state. Free entrance into the Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site, and free order of fried green tomatoes at the WhistleStop Cafe in Juliette for guests. We accomodate dietary requests. We especially enjoy cooking Gluten Free. ... more   less
