Had an amazing time, food was lovely and the rooms were perfect! Abit far from all the games in drakensburg but enjoyed my stay. Prices were reasonable, early bookings and payment is advised. All in all it was a beautiful place alittle isolated

An outstanding venue if you are looking for a non-commercial country retreat. Excellent clean accomodation with amazing homey meals. Friendly warm hospitable owners and staff.Taking a step back in time with fascinating history of the white tribe in the nearby lost valley and exciting alternative route up the scenic Middledale pass to Harrismith. Lovely relaxing place. Dinner and breakfast included which was just as well as the nearest town is 20km+ away on a gravel road. Food was generous and varied. They went out of their way to accommodate my vegetarian husband. Cell phone signal is intermittent which probably explains why it's so peaceful. Lovely spot to explore northern Drakensburg. Not fancy but...

On a trip doing research I stayed over at The Homestead for 2 nights. Penny and her mom gave me invaluable information on the region and what there is to see and experience. The accommodation itself is clean and although nothing extravagant, it has all you need for a comfortable stay. A lovely place in a quiet area - just...

Found a good deal on Groupon whilst holidaying in Durban. Booked and emailed Pennie re one of the party being a vegetarian. Made very welcome on arrival, taken to our rooms which were basic, but clean, well furnished and just what we required as a base. Meals were home made and plentiful in a buffet style help yourself. Staff were...

We travelled here from Durban and stayed one night though would have liked to have stayed longer. The Homestead is along a long stretch of dirt track in a rural / farming area. The property is set out on a large plot of land with a main house and then a number of apartments - ideal for large groups or...
