This was our second stay at the Lake Chatuge Lodge. This is such a beautiful location and the views are amazing. It is so convenient to the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds...you can easily walk...never have to move your car. We stayed in a king room facing the lake with a balcony on the 2nd floor. The view was breath taking. The hotel is old and could use a little bit of an upgrade but it was very clean, bed was comfortable, water pressure was great, the breakfast was good, pastries, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, coffee, juice, milk. Hotel is very quiet and peaceful. The lobby with the stone fireplace is beautiful And the staff were very professional and very friendly. I didn't get his name but the man who checked us in was nice and Sherry who checked us out was super friendly....a really positive person. And I am especially thankful to housekeeping for finding my glasses I left behind and for Katie for being so nice and mailing them to me. We will definitely be back.

We made this trip on the spur of a moment. Rooms were limited when we booked, and I mistakenly booked a room with a full size bed. It was very comfortable, except that we are used to sleeping on a queen size bed. We ended up not staying the second night. The bathroom was built to be handicap accessible - very nice. Looked new. Our main complaint was that we never saw the restaurant because every time we asked, it was closed. The Tavern was open, but not the restaurant. So, we ate our meals in Helen. Our main reason for going to Helen was to visit Anna Ruby Falls and the entrance to the falls is only a couple of miles from the lodge.

Old, tired, & sad. This property was probably great once however, it is in dire need of some upkeep/updating. The carpet is old. The bathroom tub has mildew. The smell of residual soured bleach in the bathroom is yuk. Beds are just uncomfortable. And new paint all around wouldn’t hurt. My walls have so many scuff marks you’d think the WWF had been here. The exterior needs some cleanning along with some grounds work. This could be a much better place with some TLC.

The lodge is old but I found it to be in excellent shape and very clean. The female desk clerk was a treasure. She was very friendly and took us outside to show us the walking path to concert venue. This hotel is set in a beautiful location with mountains and a surrounding lake. It is the place to stay when attending a concert at the Anderson Music Hall. It's an easy .7 mile walk to the venue. There was no comfortable seating in our room or on the balcony but there were many beautiful common seating areas with very comfortable seating. I loved the homey feel of the interior design and furniture. It was a nice change from the usual industrial looking furniture you usually find in hotels. The mattress was really lumpy and uncomfortable. The breakfast offered was the usual hotel fare. We will definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay here!! The Lodge may be older but everything was very satisfactory. Clean room, clean lobby, great breakfast and friendly staff. And we slept well! We would return to this location . We were able to walk to the Anderson Music Hall next door for a concert at Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds!!

If not for the view of the lake the score would be 2. Where to start? Rooms are old and the beds extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom tiles cracked, moldy, and terrible lighting Breakfast terrible, most places offer better quality food. Staff non-existent or disinterested This place could be so much more if someone just updated and implemented a better breakfast and maybe an evening wine/snack time in evening in lounge.

We stayed here before and that is why we chose it again. The view is worth the extra cost for a lake view room. Everyone is friendly and the first floor is especially nice. The breakfast selections leave a lot to be desired. In general the room and bathroom are clean but the bathroom floor could really use some updating. Grout needs cleaning and in some areas replacement where it has broken out. Could also use some caulk in cracks.that don't call for grout.

My wife & I have stayed here numerous times (1 night stays) for several years, when driving up from metro Atlanta for events at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. The lodge is an older facility in great condition. The rates are reasonable, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful.

We drove from FL only to find out that they were undergoing construction and reroofing. They did not alert us. Extremely noisy and trashy. The GM lied to us about not knowing in advance when she then admitted they cleared the 3rd foor with no reservations made there. The grounds were unkept and disheveled. The front desk clerk was hostile, yelling, accusatory, demeaning and downright bitchy. Felt like we drove straight into a living nightmare. BEWARE!

We apologize for the roofing work that was going on during your scheduled stay. As mentioned to you, it was a couple days before your arrival that everything was completely scheduled and we were able to put 3rd floor rooms out of order. I apologize that during this confusion we did not call you to see if you would like to reschedule. The roofing was done during business hours, not early morning or late at night. This still allowed guests to enjoy their stays. We tried to calmly go over what was going on and that the repair work would be done in less than 24 hours from your arrival. We did have to close off portions of our parking lot but there was always room for guests to pull up under the portico when checking in for them to unload luggage. No guests had to unload and carry their luggage in from the bottom parking lot. Our parking lot allows for just a small handful to park up top and the remainder of our parking lot circles to a level below, as well as, parking on the side of the building. There is also handicap accessible parking up top which remained available the entire time. After going over several options with you, you decided to cancel your reservation and not stay.
