I wondered when I initially made reservations here, where & how they could call "Boundary Waters" a Resort, when the only thing on their website and in the area was their location on the lakes period. The room we stayed in was very Clean, but was more along the lines of a First Class? Fish Camp facility than a Resort by today's hospitality accommodation standards... First and foremost, the worst part of our stay was sitting on the sofa (hide-a-bed?), which was without question most uncomfortable as you immediately "sank down" into the cushions thereby offering no support and making it most difficult getting up from the sofa.. The bed was comfortable. We guess, if staying for a couple days or a week, one could call Boundary Waters a Resort of Sorts due to the array of boating and fishing opportunities being on a lake, but otherwise, we're still wondering how they got the namesake of Resort...far be it a true Resort.…
We rented a runabout for a couple of hours. The employees were very thorough and helpful and the available boats were nice and in great shape. Beautiful day on the lake! The price for the rental was reasonable and we completely enjoyed our little boat.
We stayed in room on second floor. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our three days there. We met others who were staying in other rooms and even had a fire a couple nights. We rented a pontoon boat for one afternoon and the ease of checking in and knowledge of ones working in the store was great. We also enjoyed the complimentary kayaks and enjoyed exploring the area around marina. We will definitely be returning.
We stayed in a cabin at Boundary Waters and were pleasantly surprised with the organization of the resort and the marina, the safety precautions in place, and the beauty of the uncrowded lake. Rented a boat for 1/2 day and loved exploring this peaceful, beautiful lake, hiking a wooded trail nearby with glimpses of the lake which is 1/2 in GA and 1/2 in NC, surrounded by mountains. No restaurant but several nearby in Hiawassee and Young Harris. Our cabin was comfortable and modernized. Only 2 nights and were sad to leave. Friendly people and incredibly well-run resort and marina. Can't wait to return. Fab change of scenery from Florida.
We rented a boat for a couple of days and everyone was very friendly, professional and accommodating. The dock of the house we were renting was in a cove that was shallow and they usually wouldn't allow their boats into that cove. Nevertheless, they took the time to explain how to navigate the cove to avoid the shallow spots and also one of the guys, Kevin who was great led us with another boat to our dock so we would be sure to avoid any shallow water and be able to dock the boat. Totally recommend renting from this marina.
