We wanted to stay somewhere a little further from El Centro where it would be quieter/more relaxing. Playa Tranquilo was perfect. You can't really go to the beach on this side of the island, but we rented a car to get around or took taxis which was not a big deal. There are two houses and then about 5 rooms...

Our stay at Playa Tranquilo was definitely the best decision we made for our time in San Andres. Its a lovely place a bit outside of the bustling town. Its quiet, clean and with love for the detail. The hosts are very kind, always eager to help or giving information and tips about the island. We had the room with...

Playa Tranquilo is a very quiet B&B on busy San Andres island. The rooms are located in 3 small houses spread around a big garden. There is even a swimming pool if you do not feel like walking the 20 meters to swim in the sea (no beach but a very convenient sea access with a ladder and good snorkelling...

San Andres can be crowded at the touristic places (North side) but here you will find a relaxed island vibe. Feels very private and we had the nice swimmingpool for our own most of the time. Breakfast is excellent and served untill 11:00 so no rush in the morning. Scuba diving is possible in front of the place and the...

Quite unexpected as due to the cancellation of our flight, we stayed for 2 nights at Playa Tranquilo. We had a perfect stay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The garden and pool are well maintained. The service was perfect. Doris arranged every morning a wonderful breakfast, we were able to choose between different breakfasts. We definitely would come back!

We booked one of the rooms with shared bathrooms but when we got there (we went during low season) we were surprised by an incredible upgrade to one of the 3 suites of the house, meaning we had an entire house with fully equipped kitchen, living and dinning room all to ourselves...and right in front of it, the beautiful swimming...

On our arrival, they said to us; it's our purpose to make you feel at home. And the staff did just that! Lovely, helpfull people, delicious breakfast, beautiful surroundings and, because we were the only guests for most of the time, a private pool. What more can you ask for? It's not close to the center and it has no...

This hotel was such a find. One of my girlfriends recommended it so we took her advise and I am glad we did. It is such a quaint bed and breakfast! There are several different room choices for everyone which is nice. The rooms are spacious, clean, and air conditioned. Breakfast is prepared fresh every morning. The pool is inviting...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Playa Tranquilo is a Boutique Hotel that is separated into three luxurious options, on four lush acres of sea front property - The House, the Apartment and the Hotel (currently under renovation). Unlike other hotels, our goal is to custom tailor a uniquely fabulous experience for each and every guest. If you choose the House or the Apartment, you will be the only guests in that residence. As a guest of our Hotel, you will feel equally secluded. Our guests prefer staying with us because they feel like they are staying at an exclusive residence on the island, and not a suffocating resort. Our property is nestled on the less developed side of San Andres, a short 15 minutes from the city center/airport. Playa Tranquilo is an island of tranquility unto itself. Whether you are interested in scuba diving, lounging by the pool, touring the islands, having a chef prepare all of your meals, popping into the sea directly outside our gate or just settling into a hammock to enjoy the sunset with an aperitif - we have it all and would be more than happy to customize your time (see services page) at Playa Tranquilo. You can be as spoiled, or as self-sufficient as you like in this idyllic setting. ... more   less
