We had a lovely stay in this quiet, cosy cottage, located only 5 minutes walk from the most beautiful waterfall and river. The town, Cirque de navacelle, has only 14 residents and is a tropical paradise in the middle of South France. The room was clean and had amazing views of the surrounding mountains. The hosts, Rachele and Pierre, were...

L'Ammonite was a perfect choise - such a romantic experience to sleep at the bottom of the "canyon"! + the pleasant atmospehere, hospitality and useful trip advice of Hans and his Co. :) We spent there 2 days and it was not enough. The dinner was very delicious and the opportunity to meet other people was great. The room was...

I staid two weeks in this wonderful and cozy place - much longer than initially planned ... Perfect hospitality by perfect hosts, adoption into the family included :-) The rooms are nice and the food very good. Combined with a beautiful and impressive nature, my stay was memorable! A lovely CdeH in a restored stone building. Friendly, helpful host. Comfortable room, fully equipted. Satisfactoy evening meal. What makes this all outstanding is that the CdeH is located at the bottom of the Cirque de Navacelles, a 888 foot deep gourge cut through layers of llimestoe by the meandering river at the bottom of the basin. When you wake...

We've stayed with Hans and Inia for a few days and had a wonderful experience. The environment is breathtaking and invites for nice long walks (the walk to the river source is great!). After the walk it is possible to cool down with a dive in the river, or have a cold beer instead. When you are hungry after a...

I stayed at this chambre d'hote (B&B) run by Hans and his family. The setting is right in in the middle of one of the little hamlets in Navacelles village in a fine old house. My room was well provided with en suite shower and WC. Hans and his team were very friendly and did a great evening meal on...

About the property

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Within the Lanquedoc-Roussillon region you will found the Cirque de Navacelles. The village of Navacelles is situated within a 325 meters deep valley, with beautiful houses from the 10the century. One of these houses is our guesthouse L'AMMONITE. We offer you a relaxing and welcoming stay in our Bed and Breakfast for one (transients) or more nights. Our comfortable rooms sleep 1 or 6 persons and have their own bathroom. You can join our home made, three course family dinners and we will complete it with a good quality local wine. In Navacelles the river La Vis, the cleanest river in the province L'Herault, flows into a 14 mtr high waterfall, which is a wonderful place to swim and jump in summertime. The whole environment is pure, untouched beauty with different species of butterflies, flowers and plants. This setting is very inviting for having magnificent walks (f.E GR 7) Upon request we can prepare a pick nick basket for you. You're more than welcome ... more   less
