Beautiful location but the cabins need some work in repairs. We rented several cabins over the weekend for a wedding and all but 1 had signs of leaky roofs in several rooms. The some of floors tile in the kitchen area and tiles around the fireplaces needs replacing also. For the price of the cabins, this should have been much...

Thanks for taking a few moments to write a quick review of your stay at Amicalola Falls! We appreciate the feedback. I'm disappointed to hear that you didn't enjoy a few things during your stay in our cabins. They are a very popular place for our guests to experience a fun, rustic experience and we have a nice number of...

I came here to hike a small section of the Appalachian trail and booked the lodge for convenience. It wasn't pricey at all so I didn't expect much. I'm a bit of a hotel snob. So when we checked in to a spacious, clean, modern room I was pleasantly surprised. Also the staff is extremely nice and helpful!

I don't even know where to start. The falls can't be described with words, other than, you need to see them for yourself! I'm sure there is no bad time to visit but I enjoyed how open all the views were since the trees were without leaves. The trails and stairs at the base of the falls were very well...

We have been here about a year ago and enjoyed our stay then but we were very surprised to see the million dollar renovations including the rooms. They are wonderful and all new. From mattresses, bedding, carpet, flat screen tv. The room was wonderful. There are also plans in place for new sporting activities. The weather was cold, foggy and...

I toiled over whether to give 4 or 5 stats, but I chose 5 because of the beauty. I'll list pros and cons. Pros: Lodge is newly updated and really nice. When you walk in, the floor to ceiling windows allowing that majestic view is breathtaking!! The room was cozy, very clean, very comfortable bed, and nicely updated bathroom. Staff...

Nothing to brag about and per above, the experience was rated Fair. We have no interest in a return. We had booked a Groupon rate for a 2 night stay, however, I became ill the first night and we decided to depart. The Lodge offered no return of the fee for the second night and did not offer a free...

I'm sorry to hear that GroupOn did not properly instruct you on the proper procedures to request a refund per their policy as your booking agent. Since you made your reservation through GroupOn we do not have the power to refund any portion of your booking fee since you paid them directly for your reservation and not our lodge. Here...

Spent two nights @ the Amicalola Falls Lodge and found it very comfortable and relaxing. The restaurant, on site, has a new chef and we were very pleased with our breakfasts and dinners. There are many different levels of trails to the beautiful falls, even one handicap accessible. The town of Dahlonega is only a 25 minute drive from the...

My wife and I stayed here for New Years Eve. The room was your average hotel room, but with an amazing view. The lodge is secluded up above Amicalola Falls and you can even hear the falls from outside. The breakfast was buffet style and it was overpriced for what it was. Average buffet and took 15 minutes for our...

The lodge is very nice and rooms were even better than I had expected with granite counters in the bathroom, a nice flat screen tv, comfortable king size bed and the view of the mountains was spectacular. It was also impeccably clean. They were renovating the front entrance to the lodge while we were there. They seem to spend a...

Check for specials as the regular rate is not a good value. The grounds and the views are great, but sadly the food is not good. They gave us coupons for the restaurant so we ate breakfast there; which was tolerable. We ate dinner there our first night and it was not good. So sad that a nice lodge like...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
High in the North Georgia Mountains is Amicalola Falls State Park home of Amicalola Falls Lodge. Named after the Cherokee word for “tumbling waters” Amicalola Falls is one of the most popular state parks in Georgia. The park’s namesake is the 729-foot falls: the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. The park is also the start of the 8-mile approach trail to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,150-mile Appalachian Trail. The Lodge was built in 1990 by the State of Georgia, with 56 guestrooms in the main lodge and 14 cabins along with a gift shop, meeting space and a mountain view restaurant. The lodge rooms vary from standard hotel rooms with 2 double beds, loft suites that can sleep 6, to king bed suites with private balconies. The Lodge also is home to The Maple Restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The Lodge rests on 829 acres with on-site activities that include stream or pond fishing, as well as more than twelve miles of hiking trails, several centering on viewing the spectacular 729-foot waterfall. Amicalola Falls Lodge features more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space that can host groups and social events consisting of up to 150 people in traditional meeting spaces as well as a unique outdoor veranda setting. The Lodge’s spectacular view, peaceful setting, and exceptional service make it a destination not to be missed while in the North Georgia Mountains. ... more   less
