Unfortunately I spent two nights at this wonderful place called hostel in the forest. There are no words that can describe the vibe of the place. You should just go there and experience it yourself. Food for the mind I can say. If you go just make sure you can stay for at least a week!

My husband and I recently spent two nights… wish it could have been two months. We really appreciated the off-the-beaten-path vibe. Met many interesting people. Enjoyed two really delicious evening meals. Walked the forest paths. Warmed ourselves by the communal fire. Blissed out with a couples massage. Woke early to the raucous sounds of crying roosters. Canoed the lake and...

The hostel to me is a place you go if you would like to have some time without technology and just relax for a while. The view is very serene and the people their are super friendly. Dinner their was amazing even for non-vegetarians I highly recommend the hostel if you don't mind roughing it a little and becoming one...

It sure is a VERY different experience! The environment is so clean and tranquil that the whole place is free of pesticides, and they grow their own vegetables for food. The outdoor showers after dipping in the lake is another relaxing joy! The dinner is also great for people to talk to each other and to build a stronger connection...

Stayed here on a whim. The best place I have been, I want to go back! Amazingly chill place to hang out. Yes there are mosquitoes and it is in the swamp in the south but this is what makes this place amazing. Candle lit yoga in an all glass room in a forest/wetland that you access by boardwalk -...

Yes there are more rules, but there's probably a good reason for that. I used to stay/live here quite a lot through the '90's and early 2000's. It has changed, but the staff was nice, the treehouse was clean, the dinner delicious and plentiful, and free fresh chicken eggs for breakfast. Lovely. This is not a hotel guys! If you...

Do you like mosquitos? This is the forest, I mean swamp, you want to visit. You have my personal guarantee that you will be swarmed with dung-fed mosquitos as soon as you step out of your car. Do you like to swim in stagnant, amoeba-filled, mosquito-breeding ponds? They provide one of those for your swimming pleasure. Do you like to...

We came here after hearing amazing things. I love going to hippie/yogi events and places to stay and heard about this place from an acquaintance. After hearing that you could stay in a treehouse I was deeply intrigued but wanted to check the place out first before making any overnight commitment. We got out of the car finally after driving...

I stayed here 14 years ago on a road trip with my husband as newly weds, and always wanted to return. This time, I brought my sons (ages 9 and 11) with me to experience the Hostel in the Forest. It is a magical place that deeply resonates with who I am as a person. After checking in, we were...

If you can totally let go of the "other" world-take off your watch, stow your cell and computer, eat when hungry, sleep when tired, you owe it to yourself to experience the Hostel In The Forest. The staff is very hardworking and loving. The food at dinner is out of this world. Peace and quiet prevail for inner inspection and...

“I stayed in Elmo, the chickens roosted in the tree next to me but were kind of loud. It was really high and a great view but maybe ask for something more secluded.”

“Be aware of the idea that most of the tree houses are at least partially open and screened. There are considerable stairs to some of the tree houses that are available. Ask the staff about something lower to the ground if you need to.”
