I was just sent pictures of a motel room at this location. Words cannot describe how disgusting it is. Black mold, bare wires, This hotel is a health hazard and safety hazard. It should be shut down. Children are not safe staying there. Please Please Please think twice before staying there.
This room was in need of a good scrubbing. There was dirt and grime on the walls and doors, I wiped down the light switch in the bathroom because it was filthy. The bedding appeared to be clean, but the mattresses needed to be turned because they were too soft on the side next to the night stand. The hotel will charge a pet/smoking deposit of $100 to $150 immediately, but it will take up to 7 days to get your deposit back.
This was by far the most disappointing motel experience I've ever had. We arrived with reservations just before midnight after a long day traveling. Even at that time the outward appearance was a very outdated building with very poor parking and a parking lot full of potholes. My husband went to check in and the lobby was locked, but he was able to get a man to come up to the window and check us in. We were given just 1 key card. We woke our child and found the only stairway to our room. We found our room but the key card wouldn't work. My husband went back down to have the attendant fix the card and returned again to find out the key card still wouldn't work. After a few attempts, the attendant came upstairs with tools to try and fix the problem. He was able to pry the door open and told us to go in because it was so late that he couldn't fix the door that night and that there were no more rooms available but he would move us to a new room the next morning. We were so exhausted with a sleeping child that we didn't challenge the issue at that time. We got ready for bed and realized that there was no light above the vanity, and there were cigarette holes in the sheets and the comforter but the sheets appeared clean. One of us had pulled out the only chair in the room and in the seat was a pair of dirty men's black underwear. We pushed the chair out of our way to deal with in the morning. After already getting in bed I realized that there was something sticky on the bed side table. Since it was already after midnight I grabbed my disinfectant and wiped the surface clean. Needless to say, I could hardly sleep that night. There was lots of road noise as well as at least 3 separate sirin sounds through the night. I also continued to think about the fact that we had no key to the room and the attendant had to use a screwdriver to get inside. (I wondered how easy it would be for anyone to get inside.) Finally morning came and I was more than anxious just to get out of there. We packed all of our belongings expecting to be moved to a new room. When we spoke with the new morning attendant and explained what had happened with the door, the sticky table, the nasty underwear, and the noise. He said he couldn't do anything til he spoke with his manager. While we were packing our belongings in our car another man came up, opened the door and proceeded to work on the knob (without even acknowledging that we were still in the room.) We spoke to the attendant again before leaving. He assured us that everything would be taken care of by the time we came back later that afternoon. After several hours we went back to the hotel. The same attendant was on duty. He said that everything had been taken care of and he gave us the key card to that same room again.…
We stay at ChoiceHotels all over. The Rodeway Inn in Winter Haven Florida, gentleman at the front desk, Hamat, actually refused check in to our group of black men. In 1930 that would be crazy, in 2020 even worse!!!! I booked the rooms earlier today and Hamat simply refused check in without a $450 cash deposit. In 2020 one uses a credit card. We have credit cards for the hotel charges and deposits. We popped over to the Econolodge and they were welcoming. Check in took all of 3 minutes.
When we arrived, I thought the place was out of business. There were possibly 5 cars in the parking lot and contruction piles everywhere, and they had been there for awhile. We got a renovated suite, but there was not a mirror in the bathroom. The room was 95 degrees and took the entire night to cool off. The breakfast was toast, very small blueberry muffins, cereal and coffee. Period. They also had a sign saying that you had to eat it there, you couldn't take it with you. The lady working at the front desk was always rude and sarcastic. The pool had algae growing on the rope that went across it. They refused to provide towels for swimming in their pool. The room was renovated, but the windows and doors were original. I had the feeling that the owner did not have the money to do the updates for each room, but they weren't even working on it at all. The contruction materials that were piled were broken and a safety hazard. (broken granite slabs among oher things) We asked for a handicapped room but they didn't have any that were renovated. (That was fun with a wheelchair!) We had to walk upstairs to get to our room and there was not an option. We were not allowed to cancel the reservation. We are choice members and are entitled to check out late, but they said they needed the room so we didn't get that privilege. Please, do NOT book this hotel!…
We booked this hotel with points on their 1 king 2 queen beds room. 2 days before we arrive, the hotel called us and stated the room is under maintenance, wanted us to change to a smaller room. We said we have 6 people so we need this room. The woman said no, we could not do it. So we canceled reservation. After we canceled it, we can see this room is still available. If the hotel is not willing to take point, why do you list it and lie about the situation!!!
Would never recommend it for anyone. Dirty would be a understatement.Looks nothing like the pictures. Pee stained mattress covers blood spots on mattress. Found ladies dirty underwear under sink. Tried to get a refund for was told only the owner could do that. And he wouldn't be back for 2days. Overall it was just disgusting.
Very dirty, over priced, not a family hotel you'd expect on vacation, its majority of guests LIVE there. The smell of weed fills the walkway. We WONT be back. Seems under construction by the amount of building materials on site. No room service, no mirror in bathroom had to shave in living area. Its bad when your daughter wants to slide the chair in front of the door at night. The one female employee at night was very helpful and an employee I would hire for my company.
the hotel is under renovation, the suite we stayed in was well decorated and very clean. There was no mirror in the bathroom and no TV in the bedroom which seemed a bit odd. The sitting room area had two chairs, no sofa. The parking lot is very tight/cramped and had many pallets of construction materials... don't let this scare you away.
We needed a hotel for a last minute trip in the area. My chef had said he stayed here before & they were remodeling. So I came in with understanding that. It was a very busy weekend & they were sold out.First I'll compliments the new remodeled rooms. Great flooring & updated granite. Very Clean. Secondly , Kim who was on both nights bent over backwards to meet all extra needs. Being in the service industry, I understand reviews. Keep a eye on the deals here with Choice. Not to mention the IHOP out front was a bonus...
