Before we could get in we had to leave a message on the managers phone to have her call back and tell us where they hid our key. After 30 mins of this, we got in to find dead mosquitoes on the walls. The tv...More
We booked this hotel at the last minute do to an appointment. It was Memorial Day weekend, and we had no choice if we wanted to book at $ 125.00 or less. The ground area has absolutely no maintenance, live copper electric wire laying on...More
Staff ok (but reception closes too early), cleanliness of carpet not always perfect, small rooms, but friendly hostel feel, and reasonable pricing.
Loved the tables outside, and the French café next door.
Though one does expect some concessions in an historic property, this Inn lacked the charm & ambience that could have been preserved. If you check in late or check out early, do not expect to see any representative of the hotel. You will pick up...More
This hotel was just plain odd. From the check-in next door with the woman and her dog that chews EVERYTHING to the weird setup of the room and bathroom (no outlets at all in the bathroom that we could find), my husband and I found...More

Typically the winter months (December - March) are considered the tourist season, but in the Keys you never know because the weather is always so wonderful. Best advise go on line to find hotels/motels where you want to stay and check the rates now. AVOID the Tavenier Inn at all costs it is a smelly dump - I walked in the room, walked back out and LEFT, paid $117 for 1 night there (which I never got back) had to go down the road to find a room (very nice though at the Bay Harbor Lodge but the room cost $208.13 for 1 night). Best advise research places, prices and reviews NOW.
