DO NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS HOTEL !!!!! You will regret it. Lyndsey is the reception from HELL !!!! Worst experience in my vacation life span... Before anything, I would like to express... Not only am I a rewards member, but I'm also an owner of a Holiday Inn Vacation Club timeshare, so with that I will only give my personal experience with a brand that I believed was an outstanding brand in customer service. I am so disappointed with this hotel and with their customer service and the treatment of a hotel guest. At first glance I believed this was going to be another great experience with Holiday, NOT for one second did I ever think this was going to be the ultimate worst experience in my vacation life span. When entering the hotel I was immediately confronted by Lyndsey, which is the reception host from HELL... The spawn from down under... Confrontational and Rude. I really tried to make this experience work, but she had none of it. I asked if there was anyway I could upgrade to a view and she without hesitation replied and I quote " You get what you get". I could not believe what I had just heard. I immediately walked out of the hotel and called Holiday Inn guest relations and reported her. I then proceeded to my room and well had a hard time trying to get into my room, then when entering the room, noticed a very weird and uncomfortable smell. It was suppose to be a Non Smoking room, well it there had been someone that smoked in the room prior to my arrival and yes it was a smell of herbs (YES, exactly what you are thinking) marijuana. I immediately went downstairs to report it and she just replied, there is nothing I can do about that, there is no maintenance on duty, no room service available and oh better one yet "NO Manager" she was the only one in a booked hotel. One staff member on shift. I could not believe what I was hearing. I insisted that she reach her manager, a supervisor of maintenance or room service. This went on for nearly 4 hours, I had yet to get into my room. I requested to either change my room or at least have it cleaned and sanitized. After over 4 hours, a maintenance person arrived and he helped us take care of the situation since Lyndsey was not going to do a thing about it. She clearly expressed for a second time "You get what you get". I requested 2 additional towels and was told by Lyndsey that there were no towels and there would not be any towels until room service came in the next day for my check out time. I will NEVER EVER stay at any Petal hotel and will suggest to anyone to ever stay at a Petal hotel owned property. I would also suggest that Lyndsey be dismissed immediately and replaced with what should be top priority Customer Service. There are a lot of people looking for employment and would be a million times better in actually giving good customer service to a hotel guest. The only positive experience I had was the grave yard shift Jonathan... a wonderful human being, the epidemy of customer service. The morning after this horrific ordeal, there was not breakfast, because I guess the staff found the need not to show up, so I was suggested to have breakfast next door at the Quality Inn, which was a great and positive experience. Wonderful staff, kind and helpful. Holiday Inn, I think you can do better than this... You should consider making a secret appearance at the next Lyndsey shift and you will noted that I am not the only person that has experienced the raft of Lyndsey.

Checked in yesterday and as soon as we entered our room we started noticing problems. We thought that maybe our room wasn't serviced because we were missing several items. We called the front desk and confirmed that our room was serviced and some items that were missing would be brought to our room. Here is a list of items missing: Bath towels Hand towels Wash clothes Hand soap Body wash Plastic water cups Coffee cups Coffee k-cups Sugar, Creamer, Tea, Stir Sticks Extra Toilet Paper Plus the smoke detector is hanging off the wall We had to ask for all of the above items at the front desk and brought them back to our room. So basically we serviced our own room. Ridiculous. I will NEVER stay at another Holiday Inn, even if it was the only hotel left on the planet. I could camp under a tree and feel just as welcomed.

This place looked ok online, but hugely disappointed in person. The place was filthy with dirt and sand from the halls, elevators, to inside the room. The sofa bed and queen Bed were extremely uncomfortable, hard and bumpy. They had no bedding for the sofa bed. The breakfast had no hot food. The bathroom was disgusting with mold, rust and hair.

We are currently staying here for five days. To start, the location is great, the room is nice, the view is lovely, and the pool is ok. Breakfast is good and the price is right. With all of that being said, I am not sure that the woman at the front desk understands what it means to be in customer service. 1. When we checked in, I asked for more towels because I knew we would need more than what was in our room. She told me she didn't have any and to ask in the morning. Our phone didn't work, so my husband went to the front desk and was told they were in the dryer. If it wasn't for housekeeping being in our hallway, we never would have gotten the towels we needed. More on this topic in #2. 2. Our keys weren't working properly when we arrived. Stopped at the front desk and was made to feel as it was our fault because we probably had them up against our phone or a credit card. OK, MY apologies. I must have done something to disactivate them. Well, second set of keys didn't work. Got a new set. That set worked for a time and then quit working. We stopped at the front desk again (same woman every time), and told her the keys still didn't work. She gave us a new set. Welp, those keys didn't work at all. Go BACK down, and we get yet another set. She said if they didn't work, to come back down (obviously) and that it was probably the key pad itself that wasn't working. Guess what? Yep, still didn't work. Went back down and waited while she attempted to get someone to come and fix the problem. She ended up having to leave the hotel to get help. Before she left, my husband asked if she had a key to at least get us in our room. The answer was no. After going next door, she still couldn't rectify the problem and apparently did have a key to get us in. We are now in our room, and only one of us can leave at a time if we want to reenter our room. Someone won't be around to fix the lock until the morning and will probably wake us up. And back to the towel situation, at least four people stopped at the front desk to ask for more towels and were all given a different excuse as to why they couldn't have them. With all of this being said, I get that this woman may hate her job and some of this might have been beyond her control, but we didn't get so much as an apology for what has been going on. We pretty were made to feel like an inconvenience. Again, the hotel itself is lovely with a nice location and breakfast, but this has overall been a bad experience.

I stayed at this hotel from 3/28 until today (4/2). Our stay was disappointing. This hotel is DIRTY! They do not enforce social distancing or mask wearing despite signs being displayed in the lobby. Not even staff wears a mask. It’s like people don’t care that we are still in the middle of a pandemic. I’m no Karen but if I am in an enclosed public area that says “masks required”, it’s for a reason so wear the damn mask! The carpets in my room looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or vacuumed in months. There was dust and crumbs in my room as well. The fridge shelf was broken and the furniture could use some upgrades. The hotel is just gross. The tip of the iceberg was when I went to the bathroom, there was a small roach crawling on the floor. Disgusting! This happened last night but had it been earlier in the week, I would have demanded a refund and left to stay elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. Pay a little bit more for a cleaner hotel. I carry hospital grade Clorox wipes so I disinfected my room but you can tell that housekeeping does a terrible job. During these times, you cannot do a half ass job of cleaning and disinfecting. I gave it one star because of the location and the front desk clerk named Tricia. She was such a sweetheart! Do not stay here!!!
