Riverview room is a must. We overlooked River and the pool. The rooms were clean. The markings in the hallway could be better placed to Guide you to your room On each floor. The layout of the floors is maze-like. Our room we could literally hear entire conversations from the room above us including but certainly not limited to their toilet use (# 1 and 2) and their bed extracurricular activity as well. - seems our bathroom Vent and theirs were connected ? Lots of noise from trucks over the bridge too. Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Convenient bar by the pool with friendly bar tender.
I have stayed at this hotel 2 times. This is one of the loudest hotels I have stayed at as far as road noise. The first time I stayed in a corner room so I thought I would give it another chance, but the second time was still just as loud. During my second stay, the first room I checked into smelled like urine everywhere (I assume from someone’s pet). I switched rooms and the next one smelled better but it had so many scratches and dings everywhere. Average wear and tear I typically don’t take note of but the fact that it went from clean and updated the first time to this quality just after a couple months I would be afraid to even give it a 3rd try. Outside of the room and noise the people that work at the front desk could truly care less about their guests. There were several people when I was checking in needing towels and other items and they were just being brushed off. I know during these times everywhere is short staffed but just a little customer service training could go a long way.…
The hotel was fine - clean and comfortable. I have to say I was less than impressed with the front desk staff. They were borderline rude and uninterested. From the time we came into the hotel from the airport to the time we left and including a follow-up call to get them to send me my invoice, the front desk staff did NOT meet my expectations for friendly service. I want to say it was just a bad day but every time I went by the desk, one or the other had the look of not interested in being there. One day one of them looked hung over or something else. Seriously less than impressed. I will not be returning to this hotel - I get enough drama in my life with work and travel, I don't need unfriendliness from the hotel staff where I stay.
We had an amazing 3 night stay at the ALoft. Our son was getting married, and had about 60+ guests staying at the hotel. We heard nothing but positive feedback about the comfortable beds, personal service and accessibility to downtown. The pool was closed for renovation, but we had access right next door to an even bigger pool. The front desk handled all our crazy logistics in a cheerful and professional way. We also hosted our Welcome Party in one of the lobby rooms, and everything was handled in the best way. We highly recommend this hotel and want to say another "thank you" for the amazing staff.
We had our wedding welcome party and room block at the Aloft Downtown and Chris (hotel director) and the team did an amazing job! The food was delicious and space was perfect for our party. They were able to block off a section of the lobby so it did feel private. The pool was under maintenance but we were able to use the pool next door so it wasn’t an issue at all! Chris also already had a plan before telling us about the pool. They were very professional and made our wedding weekend absolutely amazing!! We can’t wait to go back and spend more time at the hotel. The views are gorgeous and staff is very nice.
Don’t waste a minute thinking about this hotel. It was awful. It is overpriced, needs maintenance and a new staff. There were events in the lobby every evening that were loud and prevented other hotel guests from using the facilities. The music was beyond loud. The common areas need a good deep cleaning. Upholstery was stained and worn and had residue. Gross. There was no housekeeping even when requested. This is the second Marriott in 2 months - different cities, same issues - especially annoying is the price for the unkempt faculties and failure to make up the room. Unacceptable. I’m likely moving my loyalty program to another hotel line. Marriott needs to do better
Titanium member, I travel to Tampa once a month. this was my first time staying at this hotel. $30 for mandatory valet and swimming pool was out of order. I didn't receive an upgraded room and a bug was in my drink at the hotel bar.
We came to the bar for a few drinks related to a work event and Ron went above and beyond. He truly exemplifies what a good customer service professional should be. We will be coming back to visit Ron!
I booked two rooms and My room had trouble with the air conditioner. I'd leave during the day and when I came back even though the thermostat said 70 degrees it would be 85 degrees in the room. Thankfully when I adjusted the temperature down to 69 degrees the AC started up and did bring the temp down. It was just very uncomfortable for about the first 30 min. This happened both days I was there. Additionally, in my co-workers initial room, the AC didn't work at all and he had to move rooms.
Awful experience at this Aloft. Carpet was nasty, room was not cleaned well, trash under edge of bed, phone was broken, and one of two beds you could feel the bed springs. Despite a great location stay elsewhere.
