If you spend the winter months in the lower keys, you cannot complain about anything. Good thing we stayed here in our RV since everything was perfect. The other campers are so friendly you feel like they've been your friends forever. The staff is so nice you are immediately put at ease. Some even carry dog biscuits to share with...

This is our second visit here. It is convenient to Key West. We got placed right next to a couple who set out their chairs within inches of our fold up camper bed. They had 2 dogs who barked...ugh!! The campers are packed in like sardines.... which is very common in the keys unfortunately. They have clothes washing and I...

Last year we only spent 2 weeks here but this year we spent 2 months. The people here are great. The folks who work here are friendly and just great people. We made many friends here. Pool is wonderful although it could use a vacuum. The beach is really nice. The pub had live music usually 3 nights a week....

This KOA has a lot going for it, nice friendly staff, great nightly entertainment, marina, good location....unfortunately the lack of sand on the beach makes it difficult to get into the water and the bugs will eat u alive. Hopefully the new management will address these concerns as we will be coming back next year.

Not sure where all these great reviews came from. I was expecting much more for the inflated prices we paid for a crappy gravel site with no shade and so close your neighbor your awning almost touches. Woke up the first morning we were there and couldn't even get my toaster from my bottom storage because the other neighbor was...

This trip was only my 2nd time tent camping, so don't have much to compare it to. It was not as crowded as I had imagined. The bathhouse was very clean. Did not use the pool or beach, not really warm enough to swim. My only complaint is that there is no gate, etc at entrance, anyone could come in...

It was a camping trip to remember. There were lots of amenities in the place, including the beach and a very nice pool. One of the best sunrises I've ever seen in my life. Very nice ambiance. I do consider the place is kind of expensive.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open all year. Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier. ... more   less
