We had a wonderful short stay at the resort. The room was delightful (Hibiscus) aside from the bed that was a little uncomfortable due to the fact that the sheets kept slipping off. Our advice, if you choose this room, would be to make sure that the sheets fit the bed properly! O

Romantic, adult only side. Siesta #4 My advise on jacuzzi is to turn temp. Down to 95 degrees. Ours was set on 104 and that's hot to us. Was nice after a long bike ride but wasn't able to stay in it very long. Very clean. Setup like old florida with some modern style. Comfortabl

Thank you taking the time to write a review. We have addressed the gate issue unfortunately or fortunately being so close to the water wood does take a beating/weathering. We strive on keeping that authentic Florida feel as generic hotels and condos have invaded the Island, we are that "hidden gem". Glad you enjoyed yourselves, it was a pleasure having you stay with us, looking forward to seeing you both again soon! Sunny Days, Your friends at Turtle Beach Resort and Inn

Your resort has very mixed reviews- and photos. Beautiful natural setting but the units seem run down, unsanitary and in disrepair. Have there been renovations in 2017? Are you able to post recent photos as other siesta key rentals do?
I can't really answer this question as it's been 10 months since my visit . Hopefully some updates and new linen will be in place.

I see you said there were 8 bikes b/t the 2 resorts. Bikes will be our primary transportation, how likely is it that they will be available each day for the 3 of us to use?
Thanks for your inquiry about bikes. Weekends are busier than midweek nights so it would depend when you are visiting as to how many guests take the bikes we provide for free. . There is also a new free trolley now that starts right near our resort and goes up and down the 8 mile island from 8 am til 10 pm or longer that you can take also for free transportation. There is also a bike rental shop by the first bridge where you can rent your own bikes. We usually have enough bikes for our guests recreational use, since we have the boats and beach and pool that are popular activities.

Hi: Are there local boat rentals that you would recommend? Do any rent overnight? Can you dock at Turtle Beach overnight? How many do you have bikes? How many fishing poles do you have? Is the worker's loud car problem resolved? Read that on one of the reviews :-) John & Becky Anzevino
Hi The closest boat rentals are Bayfront Marina (a 2 minute walk from The Resort) and Siesta Key Marina (approx. 3 miles away). Both have full day rentals (8am to 5pm) but neither appear to allow overnight rentals. Our docks can accommodate boats up to 28 feet in length. We have 8 bikes and poles split between our 2 resorts and are currently replacing and adding to our stock. And, yes, the disturbance caused by our new maintenance worker's car has been addressed. Sunny Days.

what is the smoking policy outside the structures, ie; pool and outside sitting areas, both public and private, and docks? we are thinking a mid-week stay (4 nights) leaving fri. morn, in may at the caribean , do you offer any discounts ie; military, senior, aaa or florida resident?
You can smoke no problem anywhere you want there are ash trays available on the tables as for the military service discounts not sure sorry I have no idea but worth asking there's an American flag at the entrance.

I would like to know whether one of the cottages is handicap friendly ? With grab bars around the commode, a higher than average bed, and grab bars in the shower ? We are elderly but still able to get around pretty well. Would this resort be a good choice for us ? We love peace and sunsets, wild life and nature. And a warm pool to swim in.
The unit my wife and I stayed in was not handicap accessible. I do not recall seeing any units with ramps, but it's definitely worth calling and asking the management because they'll do whatever they can to help. I hope you get to enjoy a stay at Turtle Beach Resort!

"All the rooms seem nice, but spend a few extra dollars and splurge on the Caribbean Room, or the Montego Bay cottage."
"if you want the best view of the water choose montego bay for your room."
"Bay view rooms are more $$$ but well worth it!"
"All the rooms are with views."
"We enjoyed "Southwest's" direct water view but there are enough comfortable sitting areas facing the water to accommodate everybody."
