Our family camps here about 2-3 times a year. Many people LOVE this campground, and it is wonderful for what it is. Where else can you camp so close to the water, ride bikes to the beach? It is a true gem, and wonderful for...More

I really fell in love with this campground. I love how we could watch the sunset on the water right from our site. I do have to say I did get sketched out in the middle of the night by the raccoons. I was warned...More

This campground is extremely well maintained. Clean sites, bathrooms, grounds. Lots to do for families. One thing I was unhappy with was the canoe rental prices - triple what we paid at other campgrounds ($35/hr for a double)! But the beach was pristine, lots of...More

Although many sites have waterfront access, there are stingrays so nobody really swims there. Plus it’s very shallow. Good for small boats or kayaks but for swimming, we went to North beach, 10 mins drive away.

I would not attempt it with a child. Between winds picking up suddenly that can cause rough waves, and some very strong tidal currents, it is not advisable or safe. I have kayaked from the campground over to Shell Key many... More
