The place has a feeling of being rundown and not quite clean. I would not return. Parking is not easy and no one was there to check us on other than cleaning staff. Just not welcoming, would not recommend.

Great location, nice people, the B&B has charm. Good breakfast served at 9am. Comfortable bed and the room was very personal. Easy walking distance to old city and the fort. Recommend sunset sailing cruise on Schooner Freedom.

We loved everything!!! So much better than a hotel and breakfast was a neat surprise! The room was so quite and the bed made me not want to go home. Worth every penny!! The price was more than fair and Rick was especially nice and welcoming. We are very happy!!

The best ever. Location was great. Very quiet and peaceful. The food was not only very good, but had a great presentation. Met a lot of nice people from all over which made breakfast a lot of fun. The room was very clean. Loved the huge tub. The extra touch of really good soap from a local store was very...

The house is lovely and the room was nice but it is too expensive for what we got. We asked to have breakfast early and were told that 9 is the only option. Breakfast was basic. No selection or special accommodations for vegetarians. WiFi didn't work.

We stayed at Alexander Homestead in May of 2016. The house itself was very lovely. Obviously a historic home that had been well taken care of over time. The service was lacking. When we go to a B&B, we go for a couple of reasons. One of those reasons is the personal touch and comfort that comes with a pleasant...

What a perfect place to stay! We knew we'd love Alexander Homestead as soon as we drove up. The setting is charming and cozy feeling, and Bonnie, the owner, greeted us enthusiastically. We loved our room, which was spacious, comfortable, and attractive. At the end of a long day, the whirlpool tub coupled with a glass of (free) wine was...

We arrived in St. Augustine for an overnight stay to find out the hotel we had booked wasn't available. So, we ran an internet search and up came the Alexander Homestead Bed & Breakfast. We had originally thought about a hotel or B&B in town but on the weekends they can be pricey (and sometimes insist on a two night...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Entering the Alexander Homestead through the picturesque front porch from the garden walkway you can hear strains of classical music and spy a small book of Emily Dickinson's poetry in the formal living room - rich with antiques and romance. This is a perfectly appointed inn, with five of the most inviting and romantic bedrooms that hint of lavender sachets and pale hues of vintage opulence.
