The hotel consists of a bunch of ecclectic buildings scattered on a rather large terrain.

The reception was welcoming and kind. The host lady is professional. Our room was tidy with a terrace. The view is lovely but it is sort of weird that anyone can come and take a look in your room, which happened once. So not the most private atmosphere.

The room was okay, but the bathroom was rather disappointing: very tiny shower with an old-fashioned shower curtain that sticks to anyone who is a bit larger than the average person.

The corridors show a lack of maintenance and half the hotel needs a refurbishment. Nonetheless, it was al clean and children will very much like the pool, cinema and all other facilities.

The dinner buffet is probably the best thing about the hotel: a huge variety of food. It was delicious, although some of the seafood was presented rather poorly with a lot of water in the bowls. Worth mentioning that waiter José is really kind and a welcoming surprise compared to most Norwegian waiters, who are rather cool and distant.

This hotel is perfect for anyone looking for a nice bed and a good meal after a long and tiring walk in Rondane, but do not expect luxury or extreme tidiness.

Unfortunately I have to mention that I bought a drink in their shop that was expired. When telling the staff member, she only said I could take a new one, which was also expired. This can happen, but she should have checked immediately and could have reacted a bit more professional.

All in all, not a bad hotel but by far the least in which I stayed during my trip in Norway. It was slightly cheaper than the other ones, but it did not justitify the difference in standards in my opinion.

This wonderful hotel is located in the middle of the Rondane National Park, with cross-country skiing possible straight from the doorstep. The routes are beautifully maintained and incredibly scenic. There are plenty of routes for beginners and more advanced cross-country skiers. Downhill skiing and snowboarding are also available nearby.

We travelled as a family of three, with our 9 year old daughter, staying in a mountain apartment for a week. The apartment was very clean, functional, super quiet and very warm, with beautiful views across snow fields to the mountains beyond.

All the hotel staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. In particular, we would like to thank Jose, Veronika S, Karoline and Ole, who all made our holiday extra special.

The hotel is very family friendly and even lent us a sledge, which our daughter enjoyed using immensely and so did we! We hired cross-country ski equipment from the hotel and since we had never tried it before, we booked a lesson with the hotel's ski instructor (Ole). He was very patient, constructive and supportive throughout and we would highly recommend a lesson for novices.

There are various activities available, arranged by the hotel, including snowshoeing, guided cross-country ski tours and husky dog sledding. We decided to book the husky dog sledding and can highly recommend it, as it was a fantastic experience.

The hotel is unique in many ways. Besides being able to cross-country ski straight from the door, there is an indoor swimming pool from which you can watch the sunset over the mountains, a climbing wall within the pool area, a toddler pool, a jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna. The hotel also has two cinemas and shows films each evening. Table tennis and table football are also available. The communal areas are made up of a variety of cosy lounges, some with lovely wood burning fires, which give the hotel a relaxing atmosphere.

Last but not least - the food. This was amazing! Breakfast was a plentiful buffet of everything you could wish for. Half board guests were also able to make a packed lunch from the breakfast buffet. The evening meal was a fantastic experience. There was an extensive buffet of meats (including moose, elk, reindeer, beef, pork, chicken, lamb, fish etc.), pasta dishes, cold meats, cold fish, salads etc. The dessert buffet was equally diverse and delicious. Our only disappointment was that we could not stay long enough to try every dish!

We are already planning our return trip next year because there is plenty more to do, see and eat! We would highly recommend the Spidsbergseter Resort Rondane for a fantastic winter holiday.

We stayed here for 6 nights from 22 February 2018. We were met at the railway station by our pre-arranged taxi from the hotel. A friendly and helpful driver, who not only recognised us from a previous visit but helped us carry and load our bags as well. A scenic drive up the mountain to the hotel. The room was not quite ready (we arrived just on midday) but there was plenty of space to sit and wait while the room was prepared for us an hour later. It was warm, comfortable, and well equipped. DO remember if you are travelling from the UK that many hotels in Norway, particularly ski hotels, do not necessarily provide kettle and tea making facilities in the room. We were also recognised and very warmly welcomed back by the dining room staff and reception staff. They are all fiendly and helpful. The breakfast is a well set out buffet, and dinner is usuaally a (very sumptuous) buffet, although if the hotel is quieter midweek they will sometimes offer a set three couse dinner instead - actually a welcome change! We required gluten-free meals for us both and there were plenty options available to us from the buffet. Where necessary the set menu items were modified for us. We had the chance also to meet and chat with some of the chefs, a very welcome opportunity to compliment them on their cooking. How pleasing that the hotel will encourage their chefs to go out and meet their clients. I wish a lot more hotels everywhere would do this. We had some interesting chats about food and Norway! The hotel has an excellent pool, which one of us used. There is also a very well equipped ski room and drying room downstairs, useful for drying out boots and damp cloting at the end of a long day outside. The skiing here is excellent (we did cross-country skiing but there is also a small downhill facility). The weather was particularly cold during our stay but the hotel still wrmr and welcoming. The standard of pisting on the XC tracks is very good. Do ski with a map if you are not familiar with the area already. There is a very nice boutique shop also within the hotel. We have been here twice and look forward to going back again. I do hope the staff read this review and realise just how much we appreciated and enjoyed our stay there.

This is a charming family run hotel, which we found relaxing and friendly. For beginners like ourselves it was a winter wonderland and so peaceful with beautiful scenery, well marked and prepared trails cut fresh each day. Fantastic terrain for XC Skiing.
Food is delicious and plentiful be it the 3 course meal or buffet. We were fortunate to try both during our stay and it was superb. Well done Chef!
A cosy hotel with a rustic charm and great Sauna.
Enjoy! You won't be disappointed.

Stayed only for 1 night in a double room. The restaurant closed before I arrived, but the staff kept some food for me and reheated it on arrival! It truly made my day after a long day of traveling! The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and genuine. A wonderful place to stay in the night with a glass of the house aquavit (it was really good!). The staff was welcoming, friendly and made me feel appreciated and taken care of. Breakfast didn´t have a "wow-factor," but it was varied and had everything a hotel-breakfast should have.

I´m strugling to find any negative things to say here... The room I stayed in could use a redecoration soon, but the hotel is working on the rooms bit by bit. Even though it was a bit outdated, it was clean and the bed was the best I have EVER(!) slept in! Great view from the room!

Upon check-out the staff helped me with their local knowledge to find the place where I was going hiking.

Really strong rating from my part. If the rooms were more modern and the breakfast had the wow-factor, it would be a solid 5!
