Very nice stay. Staff very helpful, clean room, and good value for the dollar. A/C might have been a little colder, but other than that we totally enjoyed our stay. We would recommend this to anyone traveling in the Lauderdale area, and we would stay there again.

So, it’s 4 am right now and I’m writing a review. Why? You ask. Welp, the people who took up residence in the hallway were FINALLY asked to stop making noise, even though I had called the front desk no less than 4 times reporting their noise since we’ll before midnight. If you want to listen to the recordings I have, please rate this review as helpful - somehow I will figure out a way to get them to you. Not sure how a hotel, which is billed as a 4-star hotel, attracts such disrespectful individuals. It seems like they are family of an employee. From the time I called and reported the noise around 3:30 am, Louis said he would come upstairs to see if there was a noise disturbance happening. Granted, while he was on the phone, I held the receiver out into the hallway so he could hear what was going on. Prior to me doing that he stated that he came upstairs previously and never heard anything. (This I highly doubt as I waited by the door, with my eye to the peephole to see what was happening.) But, there was a delay in him coming upstairs, and when he arrived there was a dark-haired Hispanic woman (wearing a white shirt with red on it) with him. She was actually the one who told the offenders to get into their room. The gentleman in the suit coat, who I assume to be Louis, really didn’t speak a lot. I also have this interaction recorded - if anyone wants to hear. Perhaps My expectations are too high, being that my stay last night was at the Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale. I strongly advise the owners to be honest and downgrade this hotel rating to a 1-star. I think motel 6 may actually be better than this. It’s quite fitting that just now, as I was finishing up my review, that the same offenders - a black male wearing a striped black and white shirt and a Hispanic female wearing a colorful outfit, again decided to walk the halls making quite the racket (which I also have recorded). This hotel doesn’t disappoint in making a bad stay terrible.

Stayed here a short two nights to go to the Blackhawks at Panthers hockey game. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Great and pleasant customer service from the front lobby staff and the bar/Starbucks area. We were able to check-in early with no issues. Parking is nearby and plentiful. The hotel is in an area that looks like it is just starting to be built up with new stores and restaurants. Not too busy. It was a great location to uber a short ten minutes to the rink. About a half hour from Ft. Lauderdale beach, which is how we spent our second day. Loved that they had Starbucks Coffee in the front lobby and also a bar for the evening time! Would definitely stay here again!

Everything is great, at first. Totally renovated, large open lobby, good sized room that has a sitting area that can be separated from bedroom by sliding doors. Not really a suite when it comes to meal preparation. No utensils provided, small microwave and fridge, no stove top or dishes. Second morning I walked into bathroom and found a cockroach wondering around. His friend was in the corner, under the sink. The hotel didn’t take this too seriously, saying they probably came in with someone’s luggage. Really? I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels over the past 40 years and never saw a cockroach until now. This morning the elevator didn’t stop on the lobby floor, but continued until it thudded onto the ground, 3 feet below the last, basement level of the hotel. It took 10 minutes of ringing the alarm bell before getting any response and another 30 minutes for the firefighters to arrive and open the doors and haul me up. For that traumatic experience I was presented with a bottle of water.

Our stay here was weird. The place has so much potential, but as it stands, it is a random collection of terrible design elements, poor cleanliness, and staff (for the most part) with dead eyes and dead personality. And yes, our room on an upper floor was discovered to have a marching army of ants running across the suite doorway towards the window. The orderly line was traced to the floor, where it visually disappeared into the dirty carpet. This was discovered only after a full night in the room. The staff was nice enough to allow us to move to another floor, but we fared no better there. When we entered the room it was obvious that it had not been vacuumed, as there were clumps of hair and bits of food (popcorn?) on the floor. We called and told them at the room was fine, but please send someone up to do a quick vacuum. "Absolutely", they said. Nobody ever showed up. At one point, we heard a vacuum running in the hallway. We asked the guy if he could just do the entry of our room. He said "No" because he was just a hallway guy, and we needed to contact housekeeping. Already knowing how that goes, we asked if we could just borrow the vacuum for one minute and we could do it ourselves. He just kind of laughed, shaking his head as he walked away. Later on... switching on the bathroom light revealed a startled roach that flipped onto its back. I sighed as I grabbed a shoe to dispatch the little guy. And from then on, I worried about placing anything on the floor of the room. It takes a lot to gross us out, so we just lived with the roach, the hair, and the floor popcorn... not wanting to become a nuisance. The hotel is in the center of an active construction zone. The marketing materials for the hotel claim that this construction site is a vibrant "plantation walk" of high-end retail, dining, and nightlife. Uh... no. It is currently dirt, concrete, orange cones, and beeping heavy machinery. Every other guest in this hotel, that we saw with our own eyes, was of a uniform type and description. Society forbids me to offer any additional details. This is a factual observation that defied any obvious explanation. These were the type of guests who could not pass a second of the day without playing tinny music from their cell phone speakers, or face-timing loudly in public, especially while walking through the hallways. Ordering food from the hotel "restaurant", called the "Community Bar", which is actually just a small bar in the lobby... is a very strange experience. Guests line up across the lobby, directly in the path of the main entrance automatic sliding doors, to place their orders. With every flinch, the doors swish open and closed, dozens of times while the line moves along. You get to the bar, and a nice young girl carefully writes down your order on a piece of paper. Then she transcribes it into a computer terminal. Then a person from the kitchen, across the other side of the lobby emerges from a door and walks over to the bar. The main doors swish open and closed again. They they lean over the girl and grab the piece of paper, and walk back to the mystery door across the lobby. Apparently the computer is only for billing purposes, and the order itself defies the ability to be electronically sent to the kitchen... so a lone messenger must appear to carry out the sacred duty of hand delivering each order into the kitchen, one by one. This is the way it happens, but I am also having a little fun here, because when all was said and done we did receive our food rather quickly... and it was delivered by a very nice woman who assisted us in multiple ways. She was very nice. The roof-top pool was surprisingly excellent. We very much enjoyed it. And thankfully, we mostly had it to ourselves. And the guests that did arrive during our time there were well behaved and courteous, though other unseen guests had a tendency to leave dirty towels and some trash strewn about. We never once saw hotel staff anywhere on the 9th floor, and the small amount trash remained day after day. When you check in, they tell you that there is a $10 parking fee, and they hand you a numbered "Claim Check" with no explanation of anything. Are we expected to have to "claim" our vehicle (that we self-parked) at some point? Who is charging the fee? Do we pay the garage, or what? What do we do with this claim ticket??? In the rooms, the light switches are all in the worst possible locations... many of them being outside of the room in which you actually desire light. The room numbers decrease as you walked from the elevators down the hallways. It sounds like a small thing, but it is terrible usability design. It's like viewing a list on a website, or a menu, and having the options numbered in reverse. The elevators have mirrored walls that look mildewed by design... as if they were left in a steamy room for weeks, and then installed. The main entrance has a vestibule entryway that forces the guest walk around to the side of it to enter the building. This is completely unexplained. And opposite the main sliding door of the vestibule is a single push-bar door that locks from the outside. It just boggles the mind why it was built like this. This is the MAIN ENTRANCE of the hotel! Why would you EVER want a guest to approach your main entrance and be greeted with a locked door? Who authorized this design? The elevators were fast and efficient, which was a nice plus. The end.
