I stayed at this Hampton inn location in the middle of the week. I am a local, stayed for a night of solitude and to write. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. I was offered breakfast and late check out which was great! The reason for my post is that I left valuable property after check out mistakenly. I called and spoke with Camilla at the front desk. She was able to obtain my item and safely store it for me until I could pick it up. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Sofia in sales. She was extremely helpful with the situation. They were both extremely hospitable and I felt very comfortable. I recommend this location to anyone looking in the area. Waking distance from the mall, plenty of restaurants and a minute from the freeway 595 which can take you from Far East Fort Lauderdale to Weston (Everglades)…
I stayed at this Hampton in Jan 26-27. After checking out and returning my key, I received a bill for $95.05 for my one night stay. On Feb 6, I was reviewing my credit card statement and noticed a second charge for $80.25. When I called the hotel to question the additional charge, the manager said it was for a broken lamp. When I checked out, there was no broken desk lamp, as a matter of fact, I NEVER had reason to turn on the lamp as the bed side lamp was adequate. When I told the manager this, he said that housekeeping took a picture! Really?! They took a picture. I had no reason to take a picture of the room as I did not break anything. In addition, I was not even given the courtesy of a phone call before they charged my card for the erroneous charge. Also, the manager was not very accommodating as he keep insisting that I was calling his housekeeping staff liars. Had I not reviewed my credit card statement, I would have not have realized the charge. Did I mention that I am also a Hilton Honors member! I am beyond upset about this. I am caught in a he said/she said. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. Unfortunately, it will take at least 30 days to resolve the issue. My warning for all guests, make sure you take pictures of your room upon check out. You may even want to have someone confirm the condition of your room so that you do not have to go through what I am dealing with. I know that I will do this in the future. …
Some employees here are racist . One of the shuttle Drivers made a gun symbol out of his fingers and pointed it at my young son - a very tall white guy. And the guy who checked us in at the front desk was very rude . He also mentioned free cookies and upcoming meet and great mingling events at the hotel for guests to some white guests at the counter but never said a word to us . It was a horrible stay generally . The staff is horrible and very racist.
My family and I (2 adults, infant and teen) spent four nights here. We wanted a place that was family friendly, with nearby shopping, as we didn’t rent a car. Pickup from the airport via the hotel shuttle was a breeze, so was check in, as we were allowed to check in early. Just call the hotel from the airport to book the shuttle. As a Hilton Honors member I got to choose our room beforehand, and it was nice with all the amenities for a family traveling with a baby —refrigerator, microwave... Front desk staff was always willing and available to help. There was always coffee in the lobby, as well as soda and snack machines on almost every floor. Breakfast was continental and good enough, though we had to reach early to get a table. What makes this location good is the Westfield Broward mall that’s walking distance away, as well as Target nearby, also walking distance. This assured us of food, entertainment and shopping right next door. There are also several other malls nearby, some walking distance, others just an Uber away. There’s also a laundromat on the fourth floor so you can do your laundry. All in all it was very nice — clean, comfortable stay and we would definitely return.…
Hotel is located across from the Broward Mall and next to The Fountains Shopping Mall. So lots of action happening around the area. For an older hotel, you can see they work on keeping the hotel up to date. Public areas appeared clean . Check in was smooth and overall my room was clean. There is also ample parking available and free. Being a Diamond Member, I was given 2 bottles of water and snacks upon checking in. The water was fine the snacks were stale. The towels were stained, and hair was in the shower. Luckily I travel with my own towels. This report was made to the front desk manager, who apologized. Updates should be made on their website indicating they no longer serve hot breakfast due to COVID. Ideal for a short stay.
