I have stayed at the Cottages on the Green for many years now. I am a scuba diver, and love the fact that it is so close to Perdido Key (about a 5 minute drive!) and the marina that I use. The place is great! I started bringing groups of divers down and I always book here. Everyone loves the atmosphere! Booking - I always call the office directly. Kayla is the manager and she is amazing. She always remembers me, and puts me in great accommodations. I have a crazy schedule sometimes and she is so patient and works with me to get all my days booked. I have never NOT had a room on the days I book. I can't say that about larger places! Rooms - Rooms are perfect. There are two options. A single room, which consists of two double queen sized beds, full bathroom, microwave, mini fridge, tv, coffee maker, desk, all the good stuff. Then there is the "cottage" rental as well. The cottage part has a full kitchen, living room, large dining room table (fits at least 10 people!) and a patio - some are screened in, some arent) There are grills outside the patio. The rooms have hardwood floors. It has more a feel of a bed and breakfast vs. a corporate hotel room. The room is always clean and no funky smells or stains. Bathrooms are nice. The tub/showers could use some upgrading. I have stayed in probably 6 different rooms, and they all have older shower inserts/tubs. But they are always clean, so meh. Beds - The beds are comfortable and sheets are always clean. The beds are a little hard, but I like hard beds. Dont expect the fluffy, sink into the clouds kinda beds. Maybe one day! I'm a side sleeper, so the are not so hard that I can't sleep. Cottage - It's like a home kitchen! There is a full sized stove/oven, microwave, full sized fridge, dishwasher, etc, etc. There is a big island to prepare food and stools around to sit there as well. They have the kitchen fully furnished for cooking for a group. Large flatscreen TV, WiFi, cable are also included. There is also a full sized washer/dryer which is REALLY handy. Location - They are about 5 minutes from Perdido Key, 10 minutes from Southwind Marina (lots of fishing and diving boats for charters) 20 minutes from Orange Beach, and 15 minutes from downtown Pensacola. It is VERY quiet here. Lots of trees, and grass. Often, in the morning you will see deer on the property right next to your room! I came in late one night around 2am, and there was a herd of deer between my cottage and the main office. It was pretty cool. Golf - You are right on the golf course, which makes the view amazing. I havent ever played golf while I was there, but Kayla, the manager let me know that you get a discount on the golf if you stay there. Pool - I've only been to the pool once, and it was nice and clean. Several chairs to sit in and lay out, as well as umbrellas if you wanted to stay in the shade. Keep in minds - They do not come in and clean the rooms on a daily basis. Really - who changes their sheets every day when they are home?? Help save the planet and use the same sheets! If you need room service, you can pay extra. Extra towels are free. You can call the office and they will deliver them. There is a large trash can outside the cottage if you need to dump your trashcan. takeaways- I highly recommend this place for small groups or just needing a place to crash close to the beach. If you need a quiet getaway, this is your place! It's an amazing find and the staff is equally amazing. I can't say enough about Kayla and how she manages everything and her customer service. She truly cares about making your stay exceptional.…
The cottage room we stayed in was nothing like the picture shown. Our room was dark with very dated furniture. The bathroom was shabby and unfortunately there were several strands of hair, which made me feel uncomfortable about the cleanliness. The grounds looked a little unkempt. There was a family staying in the rest of the cottage and for some reason they left their television on all night long, both nights we stayed there. The price was very reasonable and office staff was friendly.
This is the only place we stay when we go to the beach. I love the friendly staff in the office and it feels like you are home when you stay at the cottages! The golf course is in fantastic shape. Thank you McKayla!
We needed a place to attend to family business for over a week including a full kitchen, washer& dryer. The cottages were perfect, but just remember to let Christie know what you are needing, because you can rent a room like a hotel, a smaller cottage or the whole cottage depending on your needs. The exterior buildings do look outdated, but the interior is very nice. We had a full kitchen, dining table, 1 1/2 baths, 2 queen beds, and a screened in porch. This is a quiet location and you will need to respect the full time residents, but it was very nice and less than 10 minutes to the beach. Christie was so helpful and accommodating to help us with multiple family members staying and extending stays. The only recommendation would be to put mini blinds or thicker curtains on the bedroom windows, the current ones are very thin. Other than that, this place met all our needs and the service was exceptional thanks to Christie and staff.…
This was a very quiet place to stay. The room was spacious, and the amenities were decent. The only misleading thing is that the common room and screened porch were not available for all guests. This is not stated anywhere, and when you look at the pictures, it appears that these areas are available. This should be clarified. We were lucky in that although we were unaware this had to be reserved, there was no one else there and we used it. Very relaxing and would stay again, but with the extra spaces. The other nice thing is that we arrived late, and our keys and paperwork were left for us.
I booked this room because of the price. It's located in Perdido Key, about 5, or 6, miles from the Florabama. Since I play there alot, I stay over when it's a very crowded weekend and I know I'll have to be there for hours and hours. It turned out to be a good decision. It's not near the beach, though I could get there within about 20 minutes, even in very heavy traffic. The room was clean, comfortable, smelled fine, fridge, microwave, good tv, clean bathroom. Not brand new but as nice as any place I've stayed in recent years. Each cottage has 4 rooms that can be rented seperately, or you can rent the entire cottage and leave the adjoining doors open for family outings. Much less expensive than a condo or hotel room near the beach, and VERY quiet. If you're a golfer, you'll really love being that close to a nice course. Close as in right on it. I will be staying again soon, I'm sure. Just be sure and let them know if you'll be arriving after 5pm. They will leave your key in the mail box at the office. Very nice folks, easy check in.…
So if you got a couple guys that want to play golf this is the perfect place. Our family attended a wedding and it was great because of location they don't have full-service housekeeping it's not a hotel but the room was clean the sheets were clean and we got a good nights sleep
We couldn't have been any happier with our stay here. It was wonderful for our family. We had extended family staying in an expensive condo on the beach and our family decided to save some money and we picked the Cottages. To our surprise we loved the Cottage. It is not a far drive to the beaches. It was beautiful. We had he pool to ourselves most of the time we were there. We got groceries in town and cooked our meals in. We even had our extended family out one night and cooked and went swimming. I would 100% come back and we want to bring friends next time. Couples trip! We didn't go golfing but that's just because we brought the kids. We were so happy with our Cottage and with the staff there. Thanks!!!!
Once in a while, we travelers discover hidden gems and this is one of those. We needed a place to stay near NAS Pensacola for five days and, with a limited budget, had been discouraged by the available options. Cottages on the Green was a great discovery! Located on the grounds of the Perdido Bay Golf Club, our cottage was just a few minutes from the beaches and restaurants of Perdido Key. In the other direction, it was also close to the air station where our son is assigned. Our room was very attractive with a beautiful view of the golf course. The veranda of the golf course restaurant, just steps from our door, provided wonderful breakfasts each morning. The room itself was quiet, comfortable, very well appointed, and of course, immaculately clean. Our "cottage" comprised two units. Each unit consisted of two large bedrooms with an adjoining common area. We only booked one bedroom (with it's own outside entrance) which was more than adequate for our needs on this trip. Amazingly, the total cost was only around $100/night. For about $50/night more, we could have added the common room with it's full kitchen, large living room, additional bathroom, and comfy screen porch overlooking the course. This would be ideal for someone planning to spend more time than we did at the cottage. The entire unit - both bedrooms and the common room - would make a wonderful "home base" for a party of four. We extend our thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff who ensured that our stay in Pensacola was thoroughly enjoyable and problem free.…
We stayed here the end of August for three nights. I called the day we would be arriving for the reservation. The front office closes at 5pm. There was no problem with our arrival at 10pm. The key and map on how to get to our cottage was in a drop box. Rooms are basic, no carpet, pressure in the shower was great. The room was clean. They did advise us ahead of time that they don't come in to clean. If you need anything to call the front desk before 5pm and they would provide extra towels, soap, shampoo, coffee, etc. The only thing the room needed was a swiffer. The floor can feel sandy, as dirt and sand are tracked into the room. Since they don't clean everyday, it would be convenient to sweep it off the floor. Overall we had a great stay. 5 minutes from Perdido Key and Johnson Beach. 10 Minutes to NAS.…
