Good, fresh seafood, laid back atmosphere and a nice view - the perfect retreat after a swim or snorkeling down at the beach. The owners are really nice people, the tavern has a cosy, home feel and is not too crowded.

We had lunch here and really enjoyed the meal. They are friendly and efficient and hubby even got to choose his fish from the kitchen fridge. The Greek salad and dolmades were very good and the dorado fresh and cooked perfectly. Simple fresh clean flavours. I think we will eat here again.

Another beautiful 2 week stay at Waves on the Rock on Ravdoucha beach ....good food and service with only the sound of the sea and the nature. Morning views of the fishing boats out in the bay and beautiful evening sunsets ....what a wonderful place!

We have been going to Wave on the Rock for about 15 years. In recent times the food standards have dropped and the prices have risen. Going this year twice once in April and yesterday ( every one can have an off day). I was very disappointed with the sevices and the food, portion sizes have been cut, the service...

I've been coming here for years. The food is always superb, and the hosts/owners, Rodo and Thodoris, are the nicest people. Today I chose the fresh, slightly sun-dried grilled octopus, local sea-salad (seaweeds), boureki (zucchinipie), stuffed zucchini-flowers, tzatziki, and skordalia (garlic dip). I had to have seconds of the sea-salad and the skordalia :) Their (homegrown) white wine is fantastic,...

I have been coming to Crete for the past 5 years every summer and I go to this taverna at least twice each visit. Rodo does such an amazing job, making sure you are well looked after. Best fried shrimps I've ever had and the lamb chops are a must try! Beautiful setting right on the beach; make sure you...

Waves On The Rock Taverna is situated right next to the Ravdoucha beach. It is a nice family restaurant that serves nice Greek food. Good eggplants, stuffed vegetables (vine leaves and zucchini flowers!), nice seafood and salads and good Raki [meat was not tested]. The main action takes place under the shadow of two big berry trees and the service...

We own a place on the Akrotiri and have been travelling around northwest Crete since 1997 but only stumbled on Ravdouha yesterday. Really retired, peaceful place with very good food (service a little slow but they were overworked). Fantastic views descending to the beach, taverna itself hasn't got a fab view but would be great place to hang out, carless...

Perfect place for lunch after a swim in the warm waters of Kissamou Bay. Friendly, family run, good local produce and seafood. We were two couple staying nearby and had several lunches here. No meal was over until the complimentary watermelon and ice cold Raki.
