The Best Western Orlando Gateway Hotel garners compliments for its cleanliness and comfortable atmosphere, though some guests have encountered inconsistent housekeeping and dated elements. Its prime location near Orlando's attractions is a highlight for many, as are the cozy rooms and amenities like shuttles to theme parks, despite occasional issues with room features.
Guests have called out the hotel for its friendly service and overall value, although some have noted extra charges and service hiccups.

we had a wonderful time at the best best western. Beds were very comfortable. breakfast was not included but for $14 you get a breakfast buffet and the grill station has made to order omelette and eggs. Maria and Octavio at breakfast were amazing. They are both very personable and attentive. will come back!!

Best Western really lets you enjoy your stay. The rooms were very clean and bigger than i expected, every room includes a microwave and a fridge big enough to store about 5 drinks and a few items. We stayed in a double queen bedroom and surprisingly didn't feel cramped at all. My only complaint is that it smelled a little of mildew but i imagine that could be from the carpets if they haven't been updated yet. The amenities are not too much and not too little, enough for a good afternoon relaxation after a busy day in Orlando. A clean heated pool and two jacuzzis, i loved the gym which had quite a few selections of machines. There is also an on-site convenience store with a generous selection of snacks and drinks. I was a little sad that Best Western doesn't include a free breakfast with the reservation but considering the price i paid, cant complain too much. You always have the option to include breakfast to your reservation for an extra charge, which someone from front desk will gladly help you with. Everyone is so attentive and hospitable. All in all, this has been one of my best stays so far in orlando hands down and do plan on returning.

We ditched our original reservation at the Ramada, and could not be happier. This Best Western was a breath of fresh air coming to clean rooms, and hospitality that is unmeasurable. Great service and experience all around. Next time we come to Orlando, this will be our choice hotel. My only small negative items would be that the pillows were odd, they were half size of normal pillows which didnt allow for full neck support and the hallways smelt of mildew.
The bar service is great and unmatched, although prices are a bit steep.
Very small in the scheme of how great everything else was.

Our visit was literally after the hurricane had swept across Florida and so we had no real idea what to expect when arriving. Luciana and the evening team we were greeted by although had to change our room three times before we could get settled, understood our concerns and under the circumstances of rooms still being treated for damp and damage were still full of smiles, kindness, organisation and working tirelessly to please us and all those around us.
A couple of areas were taped off and under construction but that didn’t deter all staff onsite being pleasant and helpful.
The pool area is a good size, with towels provided and two jacuzzis that again offer a relaxing wind down after a day at universal or shops nearby.
Location for internationals feels a little cut off but if you are good with Uber and Lyft apps and don’t mind searching on Google it’s easy to find things in the local area to do and rides to and from never reached over $25 each way. We even despite having done Disney still did Disney springs from here as a base and was still under $25. The shop, the guest laundry services ( we used as had been travelling - soap and conditioner could be purchased from the on site shop) were well stocked and easy to use. The restaurant breakfast is a buffet with a fun Mickey Mouse waffle maker and Rachel in particular was a great help and bundle of energy. At nighttime the restaurant served some good standard American food and apps with Ryan the barman being a great source of fun and conversation whilst showing off his bartending skills.
There is some local damage after the hurricane and but location worked for ours stay as our prime sun was Universal studios. Luciana was on the 3 nights we stayed there to always help us with extra pillows, tea, creamers and towels if we needed. A great budget hotel which needs some work doing but if you need a decent nights sleep for family and just somewhere as an in between for a decent price with no extra bells and whistles then I would stay here again. Thanks for a good stay despite the crazy unplanned circumstances!
I’m giving 3/4 stars as the accommodation needs work and some upgrades here and there but the team are a 4/5 with their personalities and abilities as a team.

Rooms felt very damp and stuffy. Bathrooms were clean but had a lot of mildew in corners. Lousy water pressure. They charge $11.95 basically for a continental breakfast that just about every other hotel gives for free. Staff was excellent though I will say that friendly and efficient when asked for xtra towels and blankets. Unfortunately I would never stay here again. I always stay at best westerns and this one was definitely one of the worse ones as far as rooms and bathrooms.

Hotel is in serious need of a remodel. There are no USB chargers in the room. Carpet is soiled. Everything is just gross.
You pay a daily resort fee but nothing is open resort wise except the pool.
People run up and down the halls all night slapping the doors and screaming.
This is a non-smoking hotel or you can smell is marijuana everywhere.
Hotel is so short staffed especially in the evenings.
You have to empty your own trash every day and go downstairs to get things you need like towels, etc.

Dear Traciesandersb, On behalf of our hotel and staff we would like to thank you for choosing to stay with us during your recent visit to Orlando. Our hotel has bundled some of our guest amenities in to a small daily service charge fee which allows our guest to list of complimentary services. Although our hotel does our very best to enforce our 100% Non-smoking policy, it is often difficult to find the exact room location of the offender violating our rules. Even with our best efforts, sometimes people disregard the rules of an establishment to the detriment of other guests. Please, accept our most sincere apologies on the behalf of those inconsiderate guests. Again, we thank you for staying with us and for your review. We hope you will consider staying with us again during your next visit to Orlando so we may show you our dedication to improve and provide our guests with exceptional service and comfort. Regards, Best Western Orlando Team

Stayed June 3-4, 2020. Felt very unsafe due to people walking around the parking lot at 10pm-11pm. They did not seem to be hotel guests. Cars meeting up and speeding away in lot as well. Was told we would get a “grab and go” breakfast that replaces the normal buffet (due to covid). I was happy to hear they were adjusting their practices to keep guests safe. Went down in the morning and were told that the hours of the cafe were changed and it will not open until 2pm, so no free breakfast. No voucher or anything to supplement the miscommunication. The room was clean enough. The bathroom smelled of cleaning products which I was happy about because I knew it was at least bleached. I rather be safe than sorry in today’s times. The location right across from universal was great, but I couldn’t seep well wondering if my car would be broken into or not.

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel, the reason why I chose this place is because I only had 2 days and I wanted to be close to Universal Studios which is just 5mins drive from the hotel very convenient. The room was spacious but very old, pillows are very uncomfortable, and the hallway looks very old too. The shower handle was very difficult to operate and nearly no hot water coming when showering. We paid $120CAD each night including breakfast but the breakfast was not worth it...not much options I would say it doesn't not worth the value and staffs were very friendly.

My family and I arrived and checked in to the hotel at 3:30pm, dropped our personal belongings, and quickly left to enjoy the parks. The room we were originally assigned, was entered without our knowledge, due to a leak in the room. They proceeded to air dry the room. We got back to the hotel around 10:30pm, there was no notice on our door, but our key cards were disabled. With our two tired kids, one who was asleep on our shoulder, we had to go downstairs and we were informed of the situation, and reissued keys. We went back to the room but there was a strong odor, so we were switched rooms. The 2nd room had the same odor, possibly worse, the AC unit was very loud, and unfortunately we thought we were getting two queen beds instead of two full sized beds. Another observance, the floor throughout the hotel (including elevator), was sticky and dirty, if it wasn't so late, and the fact that we were with two exhausted children, my husband and I would have left the hotel. The staff was very friendly but there is no amount of friendliness that could fix how uncomfortable we slept. We would not recommend anyone visiting this hotel.

Ms. Leavis; Thank you for completing the survey regarding your visit with us. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to first thank you for your business and apologize for not exceeding your expectations. I must be honest, I wish your survey was to inform us of a phenomenal visit; however, it is still a gold nugget, as it gives us the opportunity to examine processes related to service failure. We understand customers are the most vital component to our hotel and we strive to exceed our guest’s expectations daily. After reading the description of your experience, I would be unhappy too. We understand how frustrating it can be when something we believe is simple turns out differently. We work hard to hire honest people, with a caring attitude and implement standard policies to protect our guests and associates alike. Again, please accept our sincere apologies for not doing that for you and for the difficulties your encountered during and after your stay. I hope you will consider staying with us again.

Location was great the breakfast is worth every penny. The entire resultant staff was fantastic for both breakfast and dinner it was the only good part about the hotel. Upon check in we went to our room to find a terrible odour and a pile of rotting food on the carpet under the desk. We notified the front desk to which they got us another room on the same floor which was kind of helpful since we only had to move luggage for a family of four (a three year old and six month old infant my wife and I) by ourselves to the new room. Our new room also had a bad odour to it there was a used bar of soap in the shower, that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned, the coffee maker in the room had and old filter left in it which was starting to mold. I again notified the front desk and asked them to address it the next day since we were pretty fed up with everything that night and wanted to get the baby down. When we returned the next day the soap was still in the shower! After they supposedly cleaned the room. Not a place I would ever take children to again they seriously need to work on cleanliness around this hotel
