I did months of research of the Caribbean Beach resort in preparation for our first family vacation in three years. We are Disney World veterans, and this is magical vacation #11 for us. In previous years, we have stayed in the Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Polynesian, French Quarter, Riverside, Animal Kingdom, All-star sports, and now the Caribbean Beach. My family of four, ages 50, 49, 24, and 21, would absolutely stay here again. We booked a six night stay, from May 17- 23rd. We were in building #32 in the Barbados section of the Caribbean Beach. We definitely recommend this section, as it's a 5 minute walk to the Skyliner, a 4 minute walk to Old Port Royale, and a 2 minute walk to the bus transports. The Skyliner is the BEST form of transportation @ Disney World. I would argue it is better than the Monorail at the Deluxe properties. Fair warning: when there is lightning, the Skyliner is not in operation so you'll have to ride buses instead. Each cast member we met at the Caribbean Beach was to Disney standards. Jen at the front desk was patient and kind, and helped us fix a pesky Disney App situation. Each food server, life guard, and house keeping worker were all hospitable, attentive, and authentic. The food was good enough. Previous trips had better quality of food, but we aren't hard to please. We appreciated the grab and go section for snacks and drinks. The Centertown Market, which is located in Old Port Royale, doesn't open till 7:00 AM. So, if you planned on making your Disney Genie Plus selections when it becomes available @ 7:00 AM while enjoying breakfast, you won't be able to do both at the same time. My advice is to secure your Lightning Lane (LL) rides first, then eat. The rooms are the same size as our previous moderate hotels stays, which is 314 square feet. We reserved a room with a 5th sleeper because my kids didn't want to sleep in the same bed. My 5'3" daughter slept well in the murphy bed, and my son slept fine in the bed. My wife and I agree that the mattress was simply good enough. The room's aren't new but are very functional. One of the drawers continuously opened when loaded with clothes, so I had to use one of our old luggage check bag stickers to tape it closed. Each time we called for towels, housekeeping arrived in a timely manner, and the mini-fridge in the room kept our water bottles cold. The pool was excellent! We spent our time at the main pool and never had an issue finding chairs. There is a pool side bar and soda fountain dispenser available if you choose to buy a refillable mug. Note: the only shade poolside is via chair umbrellas. My surmised suggestions for a magical experience: Be sure your Disney Experience app has a credit card entered before you arrive. Research/play around on the app before you arrive to the point you are proficient. We spent 80% of our time in the "Tip Board" section on the app. We were able to ride 6-8 roller-coasters/rides per day, and had no problems ordering food from the app at the resort or in parks. As Disney is now pushing everything toward the app, you are going to have problems. Always carry cash if the app doesn't work for payment.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Caribbean Beach Resort with two kids (6 and 11). Room was spacious and clean for a family of 4. The pull out bunk type of bed for optional 5th sleeper fits a child and was cute. Only negative were beds were a little soft and kind of cave into the middle and they needed more bartenders at banana cabana. Standout positives: Very friendly staff-from concierge, restaurant and gift shop staff to friendly lifeguard. Dedicated buses to this resort as well as one stop at resort next door were easy to use. Skyliner is accessible to resort. I witnessed a lifeguard save a child in distress and was amazing. The frose drink at banana cabana was my favorite drink of the week. I didn’t do much research beforehand and the hotel does not provide much guidance so here are some helpful tips: -the resort is massive so if you are far away from the lobby but close to the skyliner, there is an awesome coffee/drink/donut shop a short walk to skyliner to grab an awesome morning cup of coffee -in addition to drink machines by the main pool and restaurant, each “village” has one building with the drink machine. Go ahead and buy that $20 refillable mug at the lobby/grab and go so that you can have unlimited refills during your stay. -there is an internal bus shuttle. If your room is far away from the main pool/restaurant/lobby, take that shuttle to save a long walk. We had no idea about this until we noticed a shuttle while waiting for our bus to Disney -buses run like clockwork. Never had to wait more than five minutes. Never had a problem getting room on a bus -4 types of buses: internal resort shuttle, magic kingdom, animal kingdom and Disney springs. You can access other resorts by transferring at magic kingdom or using monorail from magic kingdom. -when going to Hollywood studios or Epcot, the skyliner was super close and so easy to use -since the lobby is so far away, be sure to stock up on water for your mini fridge. -while lite housekeeping is only every other day, they provided so many towels our family of 4 never reused a towel -the pool had pool towels available for guests -the main pool has games and activities until 3pm and my kids loved everything about the pool -the main pool has very attentive lifeguards and life jackets -if your arrival or departure time is before or after check out, check your luggage with the bell service and you can still use the amenities. We arrived at 11am, checked our luggage and enjoyed the pool. When our room was ready at 3, we went to your room, called Bell service and our luggage was delivered within 20 minutes. So helpful -your magic band will work until midnight day of check out. -if you used magical express to arrive at hotel from airport, they save your return flight info and provide a card day before check out with your airport shuttle information. Very nice. I would hands down stay here again and wish I had known all of these tips prior to arrival so I hope these help someone else!…
This was our second visit to this resort after a disastrous stay a few years ago. This stay was complimentary (4 days). The resort, on the face of it, is beautiful. The Skyliner access is a game changer as it really is the most excellent way to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Thankfully our stay was complimentary as looking at the prices P/N for this resort I'd have been a bit miffed to say the least if I'd have paid due to the services (or lack of) provided. "Light" Housekeeping every other day (which means a change of towels and trash taken out) and I believe they change the sheets after 4 days. 4 days? Really? Competitors offer a full Housekeeping service every day for a fraction of the cost. Scratch the surface of the Resort itself too and it's clear that maintenance isn't a top priority either. Brown grass patches around the villages, cracked walkways (covered up with white sand from the beach but still clearly visible). Chipped paintwork, flaking paintwork on the paths and woodwork. A lot of trash around the resort too (this was also evident in all parks we went to). Cigarette butts on the paths, pizza boxes stuffed into bins etc. The food is expensive even for Disney standards. No "meal deals" anymore, you pay for everything separately. The Centertown Market is constantly busy and the noise level is phenomenal; if you like the sound of scraping chairs on the floor then you're in luck, this place has this constantly. We stayed off-site prior to our stay here and it was much much more enjoyable. In fact, we wished we'd stayed where we were to be brutally honest and not bothered with our stay here. The only redeeming feature an on-site stay has for us now (at this particular Resort) is the wonderful Skyline access (when it's on, they close it if there's lightning in the area or winds, which was often). We won't return to a Disney Resort now until they up the benefits, sort out the basic Hotel stay expectations and give better value for money.…
The hotel is nice, the pool area is great for families, the room is small but ok, having access to the skyliner is a great plus but the housekeeping practices are way below the average hotel standards. We stayed for 6 nights and they did a "light cleaning" twice, which is basically changing towels and taking away the trash. Beds were never made, which is something that you receive every day in an average hotel. We called housekeeping once so they took the trash away and they were rude about it. Don't expect having a relatively clean room during your stay in this hotel.
Great Disney Customer Service from the moment we arrived. Our rooms were not ready when we checked in at 6pm, apology given plus a voucher for entrée, dessert & drink to have while we waited. The cast member came to find us in the food court to let us know our rooms were ready. Couldn’t have asked for anything more Rooms in Aruba as requested when booked with Disney UK. Loved the Aruba Village area, so close to the Skyliner and Riviera Hotel for extra food options Village pool was very quiet in a morning so could have a good swim. Laundry close by and very reasonable Rooms good, liked the sliding screen that made the wash area more private Fresh towels every other day and rubbish collected Loved the Centre Town market and food court for its quick service via mobile ordering Eating at the Riviera was a lovely change So many reviews say that this is a huge resort. I found it was just right, not too far from anywhere. The walk around the top lake is 1.38 miles - done every morning before breakfast Didn’t use the Disney Transportation as I hate the buses and waiting for them. The Skyliner provided great transport to Epcot and Hollywood Studios with no queuing so only had to use the car for Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom This is a lovely peaceful resort with great theming A lovely contrast to the horrendously busy parks. To be perfectly honest I could quite happily spend my whole vacation in the Resort and not go to the Parks…
First I will start with the negatives. Check in was supposed to be 3pm, however we didn’t receive our room until after 4:30pm. We were traveling with my in laws and had requested connecting rooms, we had also paid extra for a preferred room. My in laws received a notice that their room was ready in Martinique, but we hadn’t received any information about our room. I decided to go to the desk in the lobby to inquire about our room. There was a long line at the desk, with 3 ppl working and 1 concierge. 2 of the check in cast members were busy with guests. The 3rd (Rachel from Anderson, SC) was playing with 2 children. The guests in front of me asked this girl a question, she was annoyed but answered them. I proceeded to go up to the counter and ask Rachel if she could help me, she was annoyed and angry. She kept talking over me as I asked questions about our room. We were in Bermuda while my in laws were in Martinique..I asked her if she could please help put us in Martinique also. She reluctantly called someone and got us a room close to my in laws, but not connecting. She was horrible. She should NOT be in customer service. Next, housekeeping was non existent, they only emptied the trash cans…did NOT replenish towels or anything else. I feel like they could do more at this point in the pandemic. The positives were that the cast members were helpful and polite (except for Rachel from Anderson, SC). The room was very clean upon arrival, shower water pressure was amazing as usual for a Disney resort. The pool was amazing, lifeguards were great with the kids! Banana Cabana had delicious drinks, the Centertown Market food was great despite what others say on here. They have healthy options, the fish tacos were really good. The skyliner was an absolute plus with staying at CBR. The best way to travel around Disney! We were within walking distance to the Riviera, able to use their restaurants and quick service as well. The bus system was okay, preferred the skyliner but we didn’t wait too long for a bus or to get back to our room at the end of the night. I would stay at CBR again, as long as they bring back housekeeping!…
Love CBR. Stayed in Aruba which is a great location. Short walk to the bridge which takes you to the main area, or a short walk to the Riviera skyliner stop. At night can see Epcot fireworks. Pool slide is amazing. Tons of kids so great for families. Room is a good size. It's been awhile since it has been updated and it could use a refresh. Plugs by the bed did not work. Carpet and decor looks worn out. But still very comfortable. If Disney did update, two things I would love to see: 1) Adirondack chairs on the shared balcony/patio area for some outside seating. 2) more food choices. Everything is pizza, Mac n cheese type food. Good for kids but nothing healthy. Would stay here again and again. CBR and WL are my two favorite places to stay at Disney. We are currently at YC, which you would guess would be better, but it's not. Wishing we just stayed the whole trip at CBR.…
We stayed here for 5 nights and really the location can’t be beat. The room was clean and while maybe slightly outdated, the location was perfect. The Skyliner hub made traveling to Hollywood Studios and Epcot a breeze and we drove to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom in less than 10 mins, though busses at the resort seemed very frequent. We just preferred to have the option of our own vehicle but would use the bus if we didn’t have it with us. Sebastian’s Bistro was DELICIOUS for dinner and the pools were great! Warning though-the fridge in the room is really just a “cooler” so it doesn’t get super cold. Only downside we found. Overall we would stay here again just for the ease of park transportation!
2 weeks in paradise. First time staying here (usually stay at POFQ) and can’t wait to return. Request for Aruba at booking was granted. Ideally situated for the Skyliner, small pool and Riviera Hotel for coffee and choice of dining. The Skyliner is definitely an advantage to get to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. We used our hire car to get to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom as I don’t like the resort buses. We never had wait for the Skyliner. I personally don’t think this resort is massive I walked round the lake every morning before breakfast , it was so beautiful and peaceful. Lovely to watch EPCOT fireworks at night from the beach. The food at Centretown Market was what to be expected at a quick service moderate Disney Hotel. The mobile ordering was very useful - order before leaving room, say arrived when half way there, it’s ready when you arrive. Small pool and laundry at every village Deep enough for a good swim. Nice gift shop and very helpful cast members at check-in and throughout stay. We arrived at 6pm and our room was not ready. Given credit for a full meal while we waited. Although it stated housekeeping would be every 3-4 days, we had towels changed and rubbish removed every other day. More than enough towels in the room A lovely resort with a great Caribbean atmosphere…
I would have given this place 5 stars but I stayed in a Pirate room with double beds and the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable! I was unable to get a good nights rest, so I wasn't happy! For the price I paid per room, I would have thought it would have top quality sleeping materials but nope! The best part of my stay was the Skyliner, bus stop, and pool being close to our room. Check-in process was easy but tried to get an upgrade and the front desk person wasn't too helpful.
