First stay at Pop Century, no matter what "era" you're in (50's through 90's), all of the rooms are the same decor - it's the areas that are era themed. I would recommend staying in the 1950s and 1960s for proximity to the main lobby, transportation, store/cafeteria areas. Reasonably priced for a Disney property and you get that all important onsite 7am access to Genie+ reservations. PROS: Plenty of drawers/shelves, iron/ironing board, coffee maker, mini fridge (although it wasn't very cold), toilet and shower area behind pocket door from open vanity (single sink), hairdryer, desk and two chairs, digital safe, flat screen TV (not a ton of channels), plenty of outlets, good A/C, long pool hours, generally well kept and landscaped grounds. The Disney app has a link so you can see what the wait times are for the next available bus from your resort to the parks, etc. BUT it only goes ONE way - you can't get bus availability back to your resort. CONS: Don't know if it was my confusion or theirs, I thought I was getting a King bed, instead got two Queens (one Queen and one Queen Murphy bed). Towels were pretty small and thin, the walls were thin too (heard a little bit of noise, but not a lot during our stay). Water pressure was a bit low. We would return. You're really not spending a lot of time in the room, so it's a good place for a clean, no frills stay.…
We're staying with our friend in Sarasota for several weeks and decided it would be fun to go to Disney for a couple of days. Another friend decided to join us. Rather than book 1 double and 2 single rooms, we "roomied up" so I shared a room with our girlfriend and my husband shared a room with the male friend. Although our friend had checked us in online, we wanted to go to Reception so that we could register our own credit card for any expenditure over the couple of days. What a great decision that was. Judy was a real star on Reception, being patient and sorting everything out for us, ensuring that we had everything we needed to make our stay pleasurable. Our rooms weren't ready - but we didn't expect them to be as it was only 9 am - and we were duly notified later in the day when the rooms were ready. Judy had even arranged for our rooms to be next to each other - although we didn't use the interconnecting door! The transportation arrangements for getting to the Parks from this Hotel are excellent, with the buses arriving frequently. We went to Magic Kingdom on our first day and were on our first ride by 10 am - and that was after arriving at Reception at 9am!! There is also the addition of the Skyline which we experienced in the evening so that we could enjoy the views/lights. Both of our rooms were very clean with everything we needed. At first we were concerned to see there was only one large bed but then realised that there is a "pull-down" bed located where the table is. Fantastic! There were more than enough pillows too, and the beds were super comfortable. We decided to eat in the Food Hall at the Hotel where there is plenty of choice, depending on what you want. Reasonably priced too! The tables were cleaned as soon as guests left. The following day we went to Hollywood Studios - and the bus was just pulling in as we arrived at the coach area. Perfect timing! An added advantage was that we had early admission to the Park, so we could get ahead of the rush to try out the new Star Wars rides. Fantastic! Sadly we only stayed at Pop Century for one night (the last time we stayed for a week) but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for a fantastic, albeit short, stay - hopefully it won't be too long before we can come back again for longer.…
No more housekeeping? When I checked in the app said every other day for light cleaning. That amounted to once in 6 days. To get more towels I had to sit on hold with guest services. Another day I had to walk around looking for someone to get towels. To replenish the coffee I had to call twice. When we left we had a huge pile of dirty towels and 3 overflowing trash bins. It was embarrassing to leave the room like that but nobody came for 4 days to get trash or towels. I did not even have a bag to throw trash even if I wanted to take my own trash out. I know it’s an economy resort but basic cleaning would have been nice.
I have not been at this hotel in over a year. It just recently opened up after the pandemic about three months ago. Before they closed they had refurbished all the rooms. What makes me confused is that we don’t get maid service every day. Only every other day but they are able to check the rooms for safety so to speak sometimes twice a day!!!! Also on the day of check out the maids start banging on the door at 8:30 in the morning! Check out is not till 11. Other than that the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
CLEAN & COMFORTABLE. We rented 2 adjoining rooms...2 grandparents, 2 parents and 3 children ages 12, 5,2. The rooms are basic with a small fridge. We ordered beverages and snacks from a grocery store to be delivered. BUS Transportation was great (Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom) and SKLYLINER was a PLUS (Epcot & Hollywood Studios). They have a computer to print airline boarding passes. The cafeteria is basic with fruit cups, pizza and other. The beds were comfortable. The rooms are designed for Disney Visitors to Sleep off the All Day Visit at Disney Parks.
We stayed for 10 nights in April/May. This is our first time at Disney since they refurbished the value hotel rooms, I liked the changes, felt cleaner with the wooden floors and the pull down bed was a great idea. We were in the 50s block, this wasn't a preferred area but didn't feel too far from anything at all, and was a pretty good location for the Skyliner. We aren't sure how thoroughly the rooms were cleaned before we arrived though, my parent's room still had a full bin, (they did lodge a complaint and housekeeping dealt with it and we got compensated some merchandise). Our room didn't have the plastic cover over the remote or the shower dispensers. I have to thank Mars at reception who was the friendliest person we encountered in Disney.
We all seemed to like this resort. Rooms were clean, and the trundle bed is a nice feature. Pool areas don’t open till 10 and don’t close till 11. They can be a little loud. Busses ran smoothly and the sky liners are a really great feature. Food area is big, and the food is pretty good. Good resort if your going to the park every day.
I would recommend Disney's Pop Century Resort. This hotel was convenient to the parks. This is a value resort. The resort is filled with pop references. It offers three pools, bus pickup, and the time saving skyliner. There is a counter service restaurant, a small shop, and other family friendly things to do. The rooms are small, but a good use of space. There are two beds, but one is a Murphy bed that can go up. We were not there much, so we didn't mind. I would stay here again. The value price, clean rooms, and location are well worth considering.
The trip was amazing and the convenience of visiting all of the parks was great. The only setback was not staying at universal resorts while visiting universal parks. We had to get an Uber there and back so that was a hassle. We did lightning passes for Disney and Express passes for universal so it helped with a lot of the wait times
What an amazing introduction into the world of visiting the Walt Disney resorts Well appointed rooms plenty of sockets shower gel shampoo conditioner and hand soap Really easy transport system to use Disney busses and the sky liner are so easy to use Based in a central location to all of the parks water parks and Disney springs Menu is simple and easy not too much choice but just enough and it's all really really nice
