There are good and bad things about the hotel. Good: * very friendly front desk and allowed us to check in early * 20 minute walk to City Walk. * The water pressure in the shower is amazing. Bad: * Did not give us a shuttle bus schedule or inform us that we need to reserve our spot on the bus upon checking in. * No one properly explained the difference between “Park & Stay” and “Park & Play”. I called and spoke to multiple people wanting them to explain it to me. Once I got to the hotel is when I realized the difference. “Park & Stay” does not allow you to leave the parking lot in your car once you arrive at the hotel and park. “Park & Play” allows you to leave the parking lot whenever you please. You must use your hotel key to enter/leave the parking lot. * The AC in the rooms are terrible. We have our thermostat set on 60 and it doesn’t feel likes it’s gone down below 70 the whole time. Even called maintenance. * No microwave * No ventilation in the bathroom * The bathroom mirror does not light up like they advertise on the website. * Don’t bother with calling the front desk for towels or anything you need. You might as well walk on down to the front desk and get it yourself because they will never have someone deliver it to you even though they say they will. * The trash or dirty towels will not be picked up because of no housekeeping during Covid. * The mattresses are not comfortable * I see fingerprints all over the walls and doors. The only good thing about the hotel is the location to City Walk. …
Planning for our trip to Universal Studios Orlando, we decided to stay close. This was a great choice. I am partial to the Hilton brand; this hotel met my expectations. We arrived two hours before the official check-in time. Two adjoining rooms close to the elevator, as requested. The rooms were large, clean, and neat. The parking lot was large, although there is a fee for parking. Not too bad. The pool was open, Tuesday, before we left, I started to teach my granddaughter to snorkel. We spent some time in the arcade room, and time outside in the patio area, where we had some meals. There is a shuttle to and from the attraction. we used it. We really didn't need a rental vehicle. Monday morning there was a minor issue in our room. It was promptly fixed. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. I would use it again, even if I traveled to Orlando for another reason. …
Our family of four stayed at the Double Tree at the Entrance to Universal Orlando at the end of December. We booked using Hilton points. We chose this property because it was within walking distance of the Universal parks. We had adjoining rooms (2 Q/1K) with a nice view of the Universal parks (I think we were the 14th floor). Rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. I'm a light sleeper and this was one of the quietest stays I've had. We took advantage of breakfast most mornings and thought the servers there were just fantastic. The continental breakfast was plenty for us to start our day. We really didn't use any of the other amenities as were were at the parks all day! I'd stay here again.
This hotel has become a great part of our vacations. We usually stay our first or last night here and the hotel certainly doesn't disappoint. It's conveniently located at the entrance to Universal and is a quick 3 minute car ride to the city walk entrance. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and the hotel has a nice pool. Rates are extremely competitive and it's often hard to warrant spending more money to stay at one of the other chain hotels when this property has everything you need at a more economical price.
This hotel does not deserve 1 star! Room was dirty, had bugs, and front desk was rude! I would never stay here again! Do yourself a favor and find a different hotel! Hilton should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this place!
