The 4star Marriott hotel is a Walt Disney World® Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Easy access to all WDW parks and Orlando tourist destinations. Hotel mainly caters to families with kids and large(r) conventions. Valet parking is available but you can also park the car safely yourself close to hotel. Check-in/check out was friendly and efficient although large convention was happening. Recognition of Marriott lifetime loyalty status. Friendly and professional staff. Room was clean and welcoming. Air con was operating nicely in 90F humid FL weather. Bathroom had an ok size for the age of hotel. Towels smelled fresh. Water pressure was good for a room on 5th floor. Extremely comfy beds made the stay relaxing and provided good sleep. Wifi speed was good. 65inch TV with some international programs. Food and food options need to be improved significantly, simply subpar for hotel category, destination and in comparison to direct competition. Overall a good product for the location if the price is right.…
We were aware of the Swan and Dolphin hotel but always chose another resort. We stayed at Caribbean Beach, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, and Port Orleans. This time we checked with our travel agent, read numerous reviews, locked on to a special deal and booked a room. This is a Marriott Bonvoy hotel but it still felt Disney to us. We chose the Swan over the Dolphin because of the queen beds vs double beds. Our choice was perfect. Our room was clean, quiet, had a resort view; the lobby was nice. There is a short outdoor walkway to the Dolphin. Numerous restaurants to choose from. Coffee shop in the lobby. Easy walk to Epcot, Boardwalk shops, and Hollywood Studios. We took the boat to Hollywood. We walked to Epcot which was 5 minutes or so. We could see the fireworks at Epcot from the bridge. There is a convention center on property but nothing that disturbed our visit - it was separate. Bus service is available to Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom HOWEVER the bus does not stop at the same location at the Disney buses but a little farther away. The Magic Kingdom bus takes you to the Ticket and Transportation center and you have to take a water ferry or monorail to the Magic Kingdom entrance. We realized the way around this is to walk over to the Yacht Club and take their bus transportation to and from Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs. We were able to link our magic bands/app to our Disney park reservations BUT make sure you have something saved on your phone showing you are staying at the Swan and the dates. You are allowed early entry but we were stopped at 2 parks and asked for this info. They were nice about it and then said ok when they saw we were legit. You cannot link your credit card to the app/magic band but we didn't think this was a big deal. The hotels have numerous eating establishments. We ate at the Fountain - a small diner that served basic food (sandwiches, soup. salad) but their main attraction seemed to be the ice cream area at the front of the restaurant. Sundaes, float with homemade root beer, malts, shakes, etc. We also ate at Shula's steakhouse. There is a beach area although you cannot go in the water but you can play in the sand, sit in a hammock or beach chair, they have complimentary paddle boats shaped like swans, a miniature golf course, and several other pools. One nice feature is if you are a Marriott/Bonvoy member and travel a lot, you can use points to book a room or get points for staying there. The location just was the best feature. The flower festival was on and we walked over in the evenings to Epcot to enjoy a drink or some food (with park hopper pass). We all agreed this was our new favorite place to stay. Very quiet and relaxing.…
We had reservations for three rooms for eight nights each. This was a fantastic hotel for our family with a lot of activities. The front desk staff was friendly and upgraded all are rooms! We ended up with large balcony rooms with views of the Epcot Fireworks! The rooms were clean and we had housekeeping everyday. The hotel is perfectly located and you can easily walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios! The Restaurants were great ! We have always stayed at Walt Disney Property Hotels however, I found this hotel more comfortable and convenient for a family with children in their 20’s! I would definitely stay here again!
The bottom line is the Swan bell services lost our luggage and lied about it. My husband is a diabetic and had critical medicine he was without for almost 5 hours. I had to call the "central" phone number you are required to call six different times, only to be put on hold for 20-45 minutes each time by a representative (many times it was Gina or Tina) who did not know how to solve the problem. The problem started on May 15 at around 7:30 AM when we were checking out and asked bell services to transfer our luggage to the Beach Club Resort. I filled out a card with my name, cell phone number and destination. Bells services person assured me he would call his service to deliver our luggage to the Beach Club resort, less than 1 mile away. When we checked into our Beach Club room around 5:30 my husband called for bell services to deliver to the room. Beach Club bell services did not have the luggage. When BC bell services called over to the Swan, they were told they could not provide BC any information about the luggage. I called Swan central number and was put on hold for 30 minutes then told it was being delivered now. 1 hr later, it had not been delivered. BC bell services and I called Swan several times and were told a variety of responses (luggage had been delivered and BC lost it, luggage was out for delivery, BC picked it up, and my favorite, we don't know where your luggage is). Thank heaven for the BC bell service person who drove her personal car, missed her dinner, and first went to the Swan, then started driving to all the Disney resorts looking for our luggage. The BC bell services finally found that it had been delivered to the Boardwalk resort. This was sometime between 9:30-10 PM. The tactic to put someone on hold because you don't want to help solve the problem only exasperates the frustration. Oh, and please take off the repeated message while on hold about how it is the Swan's goal to provide exceptional customer service. I am grateful that my husband did not end up in the hospital due to a medical emergency for not having his medication and to the Beach Club bell services employee, Julia, who went above and beyond to find our luggage.…
3 trips to the dolphin this is our 3rd trip to the swan...best location...good food not the best but no affect on coming back...the boardwalk sadly has cut back a lot...but still fun...IT'S A CONVENTION CENTER HOTEL/RESORT....issues we had...safe did not work properly....tried 3 or 4 times...roll of dice...had security come to look at it...just said it's new and "quirky" ..said we'll deal with it.....but next day just wouldn't work 2nd security gent came up replaced batteries said engineering would fix...too much of a hassle for us...again said we'll deal with the 4 or 5 tries to make it work...did get a $50 house credit was nice...next huge issue,,,,DO NOT USE THEIR BUS SERVICE..!!!..demeaning insulting hassle off the chart inexcusable...Disney didn't get the transportation contract i guess and made it as hard as possible for Marriott guests to get to the parks and Disney Springs...I wrote a letter to operations manager for executives to take the buses...1.5plus hrs to get to DS...!!!!...exposed drop offs long long walks...alleys stairs garage securities....almost criminal.....we had a 7 night stay...first five nights 5 star room...last 2 nights...3 star room...no housekeeping had to raid the cart...hate that...last night just made bed...and the last 2 nights warm water for shower...why complain...damage is done....we travel enough to know stuff happens but when ya shelling out WDW bucks...hurts...rooms come with water which is greatly appreciated and saves some bucks....no wall hung toiletries which is great...we have 6 granddaughters...we love giving the fragrance of our resort stays to them via the toiletries.. we tip generously each day expecting to have the room kept well and those toiletries replenished...which didn't happen the last 2 days....we're just a couple of old hillbillies from Maine...the issues we had won't stop us from coming back....like everyone we all miss the old WDW....and with that includes the ALL the resorts.....it would be a huge plus to have a bigger grab and go at the Swan...Java is small and quick but over to the Dolphin... Fuel..their grab and go is 4 times bigger with selection....…
This hotel is the equivalent of a shelf serve checkout line at a grocery store. One grand suite requires 3 room keys and 3 separate check ins.. check in lines are long even if you marriot platinum elite… calling anyone from your room is impossible .. waited on hold 15 minutes each time and never reached anyone. “Room Service” is basically what you can get your self at the coffee shop downstairs and comes in plastic… with a 22% grat… Room Service is real plates, forks, and knives.. right? This should be called in hotel Uber Eats for an crazy high fee. Went to ask for a late check out downstairs (because 30 minutes total on hold could not yield a single human) waited at front desk for 15 additional minutes because there was one person at front desk at 10am on a Sunday. I went to grab lunch my last day at the pool bar, but you can’t eat there, I have to sit in a lounge chair scan a QR code and wait for someone to bring me stuff and plastic. Seriously I think Covid told this place it was OK to not take care of their customers anymore.. I am out.. won’t be back…
We booked an excellent trip to Disney World with our family staying at Swan Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There are multiple transportation options from the hotel to Disney Parks including within walking distance to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Currently staying at the Swan. I'm on my 4th of 11 days at the Swan and have been charged $100/day incidental fee. For the 11 days that I'm booked I'll be charged $1100 incidental fee. That's a lot of incidentals. This is not listed anywhere on the website or explained at check in. Doubt I'll stay here again based on needing to have an additional $1100 on top of the room rate.
We checked in Thursday and had to start calling for housekeeping on Saturday afternoon around 3. They showed up after 7:30. The younger child was already asleep. The location is great and within walking distance. The hotel rooms are not great for the price. The parks were dirty which I never expected from Disney then you come back to a dirty room. The wait times for rides or food are 45 to 80 minutes which isn't reasonable for young children. The wait time for housekeeping in the hotel is 3 days. Universal is so much better but we bought Disney passes this year so are stuck. One member came back with COVID so I would stay away if high risk.
We stayed here in 2016 and had a wonderful time - couldn’t wait to return! Back then the service was friendly and professional, the room was clean and comfy, and we had a lovely view of the Dolphin. This time, not sure what’s happened, but we didn’t get so much as a “hello” or “welcome” at check-in, just a “last name, please.” We brushed it off though - not a big deal, and people are overworked and can have a bad day. So we got our key (no map; no directions) and found our way to our room. We got to our room and it was not the view we paid for - despite me inquiring before we left the check-in desk. “Yeah, it’s a good view” we were told. When it wasn’t at all, we called to see if we could be moved. Carlos on the phone was very friendly and offered us a boardwalk view on a higher floor (since we were put on the lower floor, with an obstructed view). Great! Well, after hauling all our stuff back down and waiting at check-in again, NOPE! No boardwalk view “available”; no better alternative offered. So we took what was the “only room” they could offer us, with a balcony that overlooked a roof with a loud air conditioner pumping. We paid for a standard view in 2016 and it was considerably better than this “deluxe resort view.” But with the service experience we’ve had, despite being patient and polite, I’m tired of trying to resolve this. So we are heading to the Boardwalk for the evening and letting this go!…
