Detailed Reviews
So, let me start by saying there are NO ELEVATORS! I want to make that clear for those who may be impacted by that. I am disabled and chronically ill and this was not well advertised at all when we booked online so we were initially given a third floor room which would have been lovely had there been elevators but without them that was impossible to manage. The stairs are pretty steep and even lugging one single suitcase up would have been difficult for a healthy person let alone 4 of them plus our pram and all the other things we need for me and our toddler. That needs to be made more apparent on their website and the other booking sites. The staff were great and upgraded us to a first floor suite because of that and the next day were able to put the seniors travelling with us on the first floor too thankfully once a room was turned over. The room was very dated but lovely and clean. We wiped down all the surfaces with antibacterial wipes as we do in every hotel since covid and they all came off clean, no dirt or grime. The toiletries are in large pump bottles in the showers which I love, no need to bring any shampoo, conditioner or body wash and no rationing those tiny bottles that some hotels provide. Plenty of clean towels, toilet paper, paper towel and washing up supplies.
Good location with a dollar tree, Wawa, Pizza Hut, kfc, walgreens and a few other outlets just across the street. The rooms are nothing amazing but like I said, ours was large, clean and had plenty of supplies. The bedding is very thin which isn’t a huge deal but the air conditioning is either warm or arctic so the bedding isn’t enough to keep warm and if you turn down the AC you are pretty hot. We ended up requesting extra blankets from the front desk who were very friendly and accommodating, I’d request some at or shortly after check in to save yourself going back in the evening as they don’t leave them avaliable in the rooms like other hotels do. Our AC was leaking very badly on the kitchen floor by the second day and after having to move and adjust everyone’s luggage to new rooms already we tolerated it so we didnt need to move again. They did send someone to check it out and bring us the bucket we requested to catch the water but they didn’t know what was wrong. The issue did resolve on its own after a couple days. This place is certainly ok for the money but we realised shortly after booking that we had actually meant to book the newly renovated Sonesta on international drive and ended up here by mistake so double check if you are booking and make sure you have the right one. That’s on us for not double checking the address. It’s not terrible, if you have already booked it then it will be fine but It’s mediocre compared to what we thought we were booking. They also slug you an extra $15 a day for parking which is just unnecessary and a bit of a cash grab. If they did away with the parking fee and maybe updated the rooms a little then I could see myself staying here again. I would have given it a 3 but the friendly staff and cleanliness of the place really gave things a boost. They are the backbone of this place and seem to really take pride in their jobs and keep things running smoothly.

Hotel's Favourite
I was a little worried after reading some recent negative reviews but our stay was great. Yes it’s a little dated (but not shabby) decor wise but it was clean and tidy. We were facing the pool and I was worried about noise but it shuts at 10pm and after that time the area was very quiet. We could hear the footsteps of people above us but it wasn’t bad. We had a 2 bed suite, both rooms had a small but functional bathroom. Beds were a little soft for our liking but it wouldn’t stop me staying again. The staff we spoke to were all friendly and it’s within walking distance of restaurants and Disney springs (or an Uber is about $10). For the price I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time staying at Sonesta ES Suites during our first visit to this location in Orlando for a quick weekend getaway. The two-bedroom suite was spacious, and we appreciated having separate bathrooms for each bedroom. The kitchen, living room, and dining areas were all utilized and greatly enjoyed. Our two small dogs also loved the place, as there was plenty of green space outside for them.
The hotel offers Starbucks coffee and other light breakfast options for a fee. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though the room we had initially booked was sold out due to a Priceline error, the staff assisted us in finding a better room and a more convenient location.
We would definitely stay here again.

The service was very good, especially the staff who spoke Spanish. If you arrive before 3 pm you will be charged 30 dol to enter. The best thing is the pool with warm water and a hydromassage with very hot water. Fantastic.
It is really very close to the parks and very comfortable. They charge you 15 dol per day for parking and the wifi is pretty good. In front there is a very useful business gallery with a Dollar tree and several restaurants and burger joints. At the back there is a supermarket less than 50 meters away.
It does not have a cleaning service, they only remove the garbage once a day and every 7 days they change the towels and sheets. At the pool they give you towels to use inside the pool. The mattresses are very comfortable, the bathrooms are excellent and the kitchen is quite good, with a dishwasher. I recommend it.
What if they charge you 150 dollars with the Card but it is returned to you after 15 days

We stayed at the Sonesta from 25/09 - 17/10/24 and had a really great experience. We were on the top floor facing the pool and could not fault anything during our stay. There aren’t any lifts which makes taking your suitcases up a challenge but we knew this before booking and thankfully, we only needed to do this once at the start and at the end of our 3 weeks.
The hotel is a little dated but they have started the upgrade process and whilst there were certain parts that were dated, they were clean and functional. Everyone we met was pleasant and friendly both to us and each other.
We were there for hurricanes Helene and Milton and were kept well informed by the management team. There are grounds men/women who are up bright and early keeping the property tidy and cleaning the pool.
The maids came Mondays. Wednesdays and Fridays to empty trash and replace towels, and the apartment had a full clean on Wednesdays. If we wanted anything, we only called to reception and it was provided to us within minutes. I took tea towels from home following an earlier review and these were handy to have.
There is a full kitchen with ice maker/dishwasher and enough crockery/cutlery for 6 people. They don’t have teaspoons though, handy to know if anyone drinks tea/coffee with sugar in.
We used the pool most evenings, there are plenty of washing machines and driers. There are fresh clean towels provided daily for the pool and a small arcade area which takes tokens. There isn’t a lifeguard which didn’t bother us as we would never allow our children in the pool without one of us there to supervise.
There are plenty of food places within walking distance of the hotel and it is ideally situated for the parks and shopping places.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, even more so than our villa stay the previous year. We would definitely return to the Sonesta and have no hesitation in recommending it as a place to stay for other families.

This appears to be an old property requiring an update. The room was not cleaned daily, and on cleaning days, cleaning staff didn't show up until dinner time. The daily parking fee was $15.00 and taxable resulting in a daily fee of $15.98. There was no obvious additional security to justify this additional fee/tax. I would not recommend this property.

Had a great stay at this hotel. Room has a lot of space and is confortable, with two separete bedrooms, dinner table for 4 and a kitchen. The main bathroom is too small and old and the air conditioner has to be updated. The thermostat changed the setpoint by itself. There is no room cleaning, they just change towels and take out garbage. Check in could be earlier (it is at 4 pm) and check out could be later (you have to leave the room at 11 am). Parking and receiving packages should not be charged. $15+tax/day for parking and $5+tax/pkg is too much.

Response from Guest Services, Owner at Sonesta ES Suites Orlando - Lake Buena Vista
Responded yesterday
Thank you for your excellent rating and detailed feedback. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our spacious rooms with separate bedrooms and a kitchen. We understand your note about the bathroom and air conditioner, and we are always looking for ways to improve our guest experience. As part of our housekeeping policy, we provide a towel refresh and trash removal service instead of daily full cleanings. Additionally, we strive to make information about our parking fees visible across all our platforms and apologize if this caused any inconvenience. Your comments about check-in, check-out times, and package fees are valuable to us and will be reviewed as we aim to enhance our guest services. Sincerely, Julie G. General Manager

It is near Disney world and Disney springs, my only complain is their was trash from the last people that stayed in the room, there was trash still in the drawers. They maids do not come in a put up the trash from the room nor replaced the towels. We had to go ask the front desk. The washer machines did not work. The parking and area is a great neighborhood, but I will now book somewhere else.

Very nice and spacious room. Traveled to Orlando with my family. We got the one bed room. Nice living area with full kitchen (full size fridge, oven, microwave, utensils and plates) and table as well as a sofa bed (where my kids slept). There is a separate bed room with king size bed and a tv. Bathroom is in the main bed room. Lobby is super nice a clean. Pool area is nice and clean. Towels are available at pool. There is a small arcade and they serve Starbucks for breakfast, kids under 9 yrs old eat free with parent’s purchased meal. Con: Each room had its own tv but they were a little outdated, definitely suggest upgrading for better experience. House keeping only comes once a week, I guess we went during the time that they did not come. Bed sheets felt dampened for some reason. Parking is not free, $15 per night. Parking should be free for your guest.

If you are looking for luxury do not stay here. While it is one of only a handful of places in Orlando that have two bedroom suites with two bathrooms it is definitely in need of room renovations. Upon entering our room the first thing we noticed was the stains on the sofa cushions so bad my kid did not want to sleep on it, the stained carpets and the totally outdated curtains. We love our morning coffee and brought our own coffee but the coffee pot heating pad was totally rusted out and we did not feel comfortable using it. The front desk gives out a flyer that says only one person per room is allowed to go down and get breakfast so My 16 yo son went down and was only given enough food for three people even though we had 5 people in our room which he explained but it didn’t matter he was only allowed 3 muffins. The beds were awful..very loud and squeaky when we moved or rolled over, not pillow top but had a strapped on cushion to mattress, just very old and in need of replacement. NO ELEVATORS, you must carry all of your luggage up the stairs which is not mentioned on their website. The front desk and lobby area is not impressive at all it looks more like a nasty convenience store, with one person serving guests so the wait time at 10 pm was quite long. I do not think i would stay here again but on a positive note, the A/C worked perfectly it was nice and cold and the property was somewhat quite after 10 pm quite hours. It worked for us bc we weren’t in the room that much.

Response from Julie Gruenthal, General Manager at Sonesta ES Suites Orlando - Lake Buena Vista
Responded 23 Apr 2022
Thank you for being our guest and for your feedback. I'm sorry you had some issues with your room and breakfast while you were here. Your son should have been able to get breakfast for all the guests in the room; I'm sorry if the attendant misunderstood him and did not give him enough food. We are in the process of modifying our breakfast and changes are coming. We are also excited about an upcoming renovation of all of our guest rooms and our lobby later this year.
