Unfortunately the room appeared to be clean but it wasn’t. When you picked up items off the floor or move things around there were bugs along the baseboards little tiny silver fish and other critters crawling around the edge of the room. I would’ve left if we hadn’t checked in so late after driving so long. They might as well rename the property motel not hotel. When we first entered the room it smelled terrible. Thankfully we always carry a can of Lysol with us and were able to spray the room to get rid of the odor. Large stains on the carpet like a dog had gone to the bathroom. This hotel is right off of I 75 in Ocala and there are other options outside of Marriott to stay. As a platinum member I expected more from a Fairfield Inn and suites and was sadly disappointed.
In the past we have enjoyed the Marriott brand. Our stay started with feeling like a criminal for staying on my mom’s points. Back story my dad died unexpectedly and left us with over 200,000 points. May as well not waste them. She had to call my mom and verify and told me there is no way to “add” a guest to the reservation. I can use my airline points for my husband to fly without a verification call. In Covid times I expected to see an extra layer of cleanliness- like the remote cleaned and sealed etc. there were 2 hand wipes on the desk. Breakfast was grab and go and the hours were 6:30-8:30 on a weekend. It was fine, but like 8:30 on a weekend? Literally everything was sugary and prepackaged which given the times was fine but they couldn’t leave those grab bags out until 10am? Also they locked the fridge promptly at 8:30 so when I tried to grab an OJ for my kid at 9am I couldn’t. Great hospitality!!! 🙄 There was an alive roach in the bathroom when we woke up and a mystery spill on the front of the dresser. The previous guest’s Solanpas was behind the bed- found by my 20 mo old. Just felt gross and not clean given the times. We had an adjoining room door and could hear our neighbors TV word for word. I’m sure they loved having a 20mo old next door too. Just overall disappointed and a reminder why we don’t stay in hotels. Very limited options with points for family friendly rooms. Even full price there are very limited family options. It’s going to be hard to convince my husband to stay in another hotel ever.…
Third hotel this week - best of all of them and all brands. Great value. Fresh, immaculate, safe, well-lit parking, everything worked well, helpful staff. Breakfast was a “to go bag” of pastry, juice, bar, etc but satisfactory and safe during Covid. Great location on I-75. Walk to at least five restaurants. Nice area surrounding hotel. I’d definitely stay at this hotel again.
Excellent value - less than $100. Room - clean and comfortable. Good shower. All personnel very helpful. Great breakfast. The ladies running the breakfast area kept the place in tip top shape. Hot tub and pool outside - very good. I would definitely stay there again - highly recommend.
Great staff who are very welcoming with many amenities, plenty of parking, beautiful and quiet rooms..I will only ever stay at this hotel on any trips to the Ocala area..A+++++ service and wonderful job of all the staff. Breakfast was free Witt stay and was better than the breakfasts at the Hilton, Double Tree, and Gaylord Palms.
