My wife and I stayed at this property from 12/20/16 to 12/23/15. The location is awesome right on a canal with a marina. You can fish in the canal where there were were quite a few fish and a few gators. It is adjacent to...More
Port of the Island Resort is located about 15 miles away from civilization towards the Everglades. A great place to stay if you are going to Big Cypress and/or the Everglades. The beds were comfortable, it has a beautiful pool, and a lovely location.
We didn't expect to be assigned a newly renovated unit just outside the main building where units around the pool have screened porches and are mostly owner occupied. The moment we opened the arch designed doorway we noticed the room is immaculately clean, walls are...More
No hot water, no breakfast, no one at front desk to complain to at 7:40AM. Waited 1 and a half hours to be served dinner night before. Only place to eat For 20 miles. That ought to sum it up.

Secluded hotel situated in the middle of nowhere. Which is exactly what we needed to visit the mangrove tunnels.
Not a lot going on around there, but that's not why you book it. Friendly staff, clean room and very good rates.

Yes it is out approx 20 miles on Rt 41 from the crossroads by the new Texas Steak House. It is a hotel. There are chartered boats , everglades adventure trips and air boat rides, kayaking adventures and other things . Saturday night is Karaoke. The hotel overlooks the docks and is beautiful at night . We go into Marco Island also for things there. Some people want things like the Naples Beach Club but don't want to pay the price so may rate it lower. The Port of the Island is a place to relax , get decent food and have fun ! Hope this helps
