This place had mixed reviews, and I think that is due to a change of ownership and uncertainty about the future of the business. The day I stayed I was told that the land would probably be redeveloped. If it does re-open, what I would say is that the village is very nice and probably a good base for visiting...

We arrived full of expectation on Valentines day for a late lunch which we had booked some 2-3 weeks previously by phone. . We had tried to adjust the timing of our meal a few days before visiting by phone - but received no answer. Upon arrival it was clear that the establishment is closed. The car park is sealed...

I have used the Queens in the past for large events (a dinner for 50 people),family accommodation over Christmas and business accommodation but not since the new owners took over. I did have cause to book my parents into the Queens for 3 nights this past Christmas and, whilst the rooms remain unchanged and very nice, the level of service...

We have just had a lovely meal at The Queens. We were given the menu but the waitress failed to tell us that there were roasts on the menu which we only noticed when we heard other customers ordering.we all chose a roast meal and mine was roast beef which was excellent with two very generous slices. Would go back...

Stayed for just one night at this pub in a "luxury" king room @ £95/night. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The room was large but in desperate need of refurbishment (carpet fraying, bathroom lock broken, shabby furniture, etc) and there was absolutely nothing luxurious about it whatsoever! The biggest issue was that the room + bathroom are single glazed, meaning...

The Queens at Selborne looks like a very ordinary, slightly scruffy country pub. Perfect for walkers with muddy boots. However, if you dine in the restaraunt you will discover en excellent menu with every dish, superbly and generously executed.

We stayed here as a base for the Jane Austen Route. The rooms are decorated to a high standard, each with an individual theme. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate both nights in the pub and the food was excellent.

We stayed over as we had a meal booked in a nearby village. The rooms are very clean and well laid out and the staff were very helpful, organising a taxi for us and making sure we had everything we needed. The bar is small and snug with an open log fire, easy to fall asleep in front of if...

We were staying in Selborne for a couple of nights, so had the choice of the two pubs in the village. The Queens looked welcoming from the outside, and was the same inside, very quiet apart from a few locals and another couple eating. Nice simple selection for food, we had the hummus to share to start (homemade very tasty),...

I stayed here with my wife and two children (8 &12) in The Queens Suite and we're pleased we did. The kids had their own room, separated from ours by a small TV room / hallway, and all of us were very happy with the rooms. Breakfast was Continental, but a Full English is available for £7, although cereal, yoghurt,...
