First time at this hotel, twenty minutes from airport, not far from south beach, wynwood area. Plenty of activities to do around the area. Would definitely go back. Wouldn’t change anything. Truly recommended

Hotel's Favourite
I had a wonderful stay at the Gabriel. The staff is top notch- so friendly and accommodating. The hotel was able to change my room type to a larger room after my friend decided to join me last minute on my trip (special thanks to Trisha at the front desk for making this happen.) There was a free continental breakfast included in our stay. Just be sure to make it clear to the restaurant staff that you'd like the continental breakfast and show them the provided breakfast cards you receive at check in. Unfortunately my friend and I did not clarify this before ordering and we ended up having to pay for our meal because it was not the designated breakfast (which is just fruit + pastries.) We were not aware of this so just wanted to be sure others knew and don't make the same mistake, lol. The room (a deluxe room) was very spacious and clean. I loved that my friend and I had separate sinks and that the shower/tub situation was an entirely other ROOM than the bathroom (the tub was amazing, btw)! Made getting ready really easy and efficient. There's a main pool, two smaller soaking tubs (loved the cold one- so refreshing) and a lap pool. We did not have any issue grabbing lounges around the pool but we also went during the low season. The location is a bit tucked away from the nightlife but many things are a short uber ride away. You can get to Miami Beach in about 15 minutes via car. I would absolutely stay here again, really loved my time here.

This is definitely NOT a five star property as listed. The rooms need a detailed cleaning as well as all of the rugs on the floor. The first room I had was run down, curtains torn and mold in the bathroom around the shower. For the inconvenience, they gave me another room which was somewhat better but still sub par. The last straw was when I tried to contact the front desk for more towels and the phone was broken, there were numerous stains on the rug and our room number was broken outside of the door. Its a very uncomfortable feeling to have to go buy cleaning products to pick up the slack in a “5 star hotel” because of the lack of cleanliness. I was able to speak with an amazing manager, Indy. She went above and beyond to make me and my husband comfortable, upgraded our room and also sent up a bottle of champagne for our troubles. She made the stay worthwhile and I truly enjoyed myself after she stepped in. She was truly indicative of how a manager is supposed to step in and provide great customer service. While I can’t promise I’ll go back, I’ll always remember the pleasant experience she provided.

This hotel is absolutely stunning and in a great location for anyone looking to explore more than just South Beach. What I loved: Spacious room, free shuttle to sister property in South Beach, nice bar at the hotel What I didn't love: The check-out experience was one of the worst I have ever had in my life. Never in my life have I been denied a late check-out, and I was especially surprised for that to happen at a 5 star hotel. Our alarm didn't go off and we overslept. Some white, blonde haired woman knocked on our door at 11:17am and told us we needed to be out by 11:30am or else we would be subject to a $100 charge. The woman could tell I was clearly disheveled when I answered the door and was only willing to give me an extra 13 minutes to get myself and my items together which I found incredibly rude. I understand that rules are in place to help with general hotel operations - however, this woman had no empathy and I was left feeling like I just had an abrupt reminder that my vacation was over and I better get a move on. She was not part of housekeeping, she was just going through policing who was out of their rooms, which I've also never seen before. I was especially perturbed by her refusal to be an empathetic human because on Saturday night, we arrived back to our hotel at 5pm and housekeeping was just starting to clean our room - so we had to go keep ourselves busy elsewhere for 30 minutes while we waited for our room to be cleaned. This meant we had to rush to get ready in order to make our dinner reservations for the evening. Everyone else we encountered at the hotel - the front desk people, the restaurant/bar staff, the shuttle operator - were all outstanding, courteous, and professional. Whoever that woman was, however, needs a reminder about tact and hospitality.

I had high expectations and they were not met. This was for my birthday trip to Miami. I got an email a day or two before check in, letting me know I could select a room from the available rooms in the layout. I picked 1513 which would have a balcony view looking toward the Arena and Bayside area of downtown. The whole reason I picked a balcony room was to enjoy time outside looking at the city or goings on. (Strike 1) When we arrived the room I was issued was 1523 which was facing the highway and all of the construction on the ground floor. (The person at the desk made no mention of my attempt to book room 1513 on the App, or provide no reasoning as to why I was issued another room all together. It’s like the App served no purpose for our stay past using it to book initially.) The balcony floor and chairs were wet the entire stay because they never got a chance to dry out from the sun and I only went out on the balcony to watch cars go by a few times. Let down by the view. Also, the main pool and jacuzzi were closed for maintenance. (Strike 2) I had stayed at this hotel once before and knew what to expect with the pool so that was one of the drivers in the decision making process for this hotel selection. If it would have been clearly communicated during booking that the main pool and jacuzzi were unavailable, I would not have chosen to stay here at all. I could have stayed on South Beach or another hotel downtown with a pool and gotten the value I paid for. Lastly, the room we were placed in had a few issues with it which took away from the nice feeling I had about coming back to a hotel we stayed at in the past. (Strike 3) The floor in the room was constantly wet and sticky which was why the air was at 65 when we got in. I can’t survive indoors at 65° so I turned it up to 72°. This meant the floor was getting humid or damp and it felt weird under our feet. I used one of the towels to keep under my feet in the bathroom while I was getting ready because I didn't have socks with me. The shower never got hot enough, only like warm. After a long day awake and spending a night out, the first thing I wanted was a hot shower. I stood in the stall shivering with cool water that never got past warm. Not a good experience each time I had to shower

Big let down after finding this hotel online. The pictures and descriptions make this a promising downtown Miami destination, but this hotel is lacking in every way. It is in a shared building of residences and you have no option for parking except valet in an area clearly dedicated to the residents. The hotel is dated and in a major need of a refresh, including the rooms. The awkward bar/dining area was uncomfortable and the food was subpar- my husband’s chicken sandwich came out not fully cooked. The pools oddly close at sunset. The spa and fitness centers are uninviting. Our balcony room was damaged, dated, and uncomfortable. Our room door would not lock the entirety of our stay. The shower rainfall head would spray out in all directions and the handheld bar was broken. The safe drawer in the closet area would not stay closed so we had to navigate around the protruding drawer. The drapery and furnishings in the room had a musk are dingy and dirty. The only true benefit to this stay was the proximity to our events and dining downtown. We won’t stay again.

Wow! Where do I start this is a must stay hotel! From the design luxury that has the best details, amenities, and bar outlets this hotel will surely be your best choice in Miami. The stay is absolutely amazing and the staff do all they can to make sure your stay is nothing short of the best. Front desk manager Indy was welcoming and ensured that we enjoyed our stay. I will stay at this hotel for business and leisure if you’re traveling to Miami Biscayne. Oh yea, let’s not forget the unbelievable balcony views of the bay and central location in downtown. It’s the best of both worlds. Thank you Gabriel Downtown for your luxury and hospitality. Hands down my best travel experience and I have been to many hotels around the world. Thank you!

I have to say, not many people have the WOW factor like Indira. Indira greeted us like we were family members that haven't saw each other in years. She made sure all accommodations were taken care of and even left a surprise gift for my birthday. Very grateful for the opportunity to meet Indira, she's the best!

What an exciting trip!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was looking for a hotel to stay downtown Miami and when I saw your hotel, it was love at first site. Check-in was amazing. A huge thank you for the upgrade for my son’s birthday, you guys made it even better. Everything I ordered and got delivered at the hotel was in great condition. I must say, your housekeeping staff😀they sure knows how to clean a room, I had to tip her everyday (stayed in room 1106). You guys were out of bedroom slippers. Hope when I stay next time you guys will have them in stock. The guys who work the front desk, they are truly friendly and nice. Overall, five stars to you guys. Thank you and I will rebook again 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
