Re-defined. Re-invented. Re-imagined

Blending cutting edge design with timeless retro aesthetics, the newly renovated Vagabond Hotel is a cosmopolitan mix of all things hassle-free. The perfect balance of attentive boutique service, retro-chic inspired interiors and contemporary comfort, the Vagabond invites you to kick back and relax.

Set to redefine it's glamorous past as a fabled Rat Pack hangout, the Vagabond is back. An iconic mid-century modern Miami landmark, set within 56,000 sq. ft of lush landscaping, this reinvented, newly renovated American Motel classic has been completely transformed into a super-fabulous, uber-chic, twenty-first century, retro-luxe, 45-room boutique service hotel.

Designed by us, but always inspired by you, we know a hotel is more than just a place for you to sleep. It's where you work, rest, play and stay. So, offering more than the to be expected style savvy good looks, our vibrant, retro-licious guest rooms wrap you up in a cosmopolitan world of stylish home comforts, designer touches and high-tech convenience. All topped off with meticulous service from friendly, knowledge staff . . Simply put, from the minute you check into the Vagabond's ultra-modern lobby to the moment you reluctantly say goodbye you'll be smitten...

Sleek 1950's inspired custom made furniture, dreamy hypo-allergenic Italian beds, vibrant bursts of color, free high speed Wi-Fi, intricately stenciled geometric wall art, invigorating rain showers, sumptuous eco-chic toiletries, state of the art 40" flat screen TVs and stunning original design features, such as terrazzo tiling and wooden flooring are just some of small details that we know will make the big difference.

However, don't get too comfortable... With most of our spacious, rooms opening up into a tantalizing poolside oasis, decked out with sultry palm trees, oversized sun loungers, a delectable cabana bar, and mouth watering restaurant, you 'll be spoilt by what to do next. But let's be honest, if the biggest decisions you have to make each day, are what sunscreen you should wear while swimming away the hours with our legendary mosaic mermaid, or whether of not you should order your Vodka Vagatini frozen or on the rocks while you soak up the rays, life can't be bad.

..And don't worry, even if you're less of a 'factor 15 universalistic sun worshipper' and more of the 'get up and go' travel connoisseur, architecture buff, fashionista, foodie, style seeker, culture vulture or art lover, we've still got you covered. With Downtown, South Beach, Midtown, the Wynwood Art Scene and the Design District, all with easy reach, the very best of Miami's dining, shopping, sightseeing and sunbathing is at your fingertips

Less of an end destination and more of an experience, for us using the Do Not Disturb sign is a style statement, not a declaration of privacy.

This charming 1950s motel with a mid-century vibe is an oasis and I'm so grateful that they were my first hotel stay after a year of pandemic no-travel. I can't say enough about this place; the friendly staff that made my stay feel welcome and safe. Having an amazing restaurant that serves Mediterranean street food in a fresh style is such a bonus! Plus, a beautiful pool with bar service four nights a week? What a treat. Sebastian is an expert mixologist and host and runs his pool bar in an inviting, sophisticated manner. I can't wait to return next year... :-)

Due to unforeseen circumstances around Covid, I had to cancel my stay. The staff were so thoughtful in waiving the 24-hour cancellation fee. Thank you very much for your assistance and consideration!!

I had a great stay at Vagabond Hotel! I read about it in the New York Times, and actually cancelled my AirBnb to stay here. The staff was so warm and welcoming. I showed up an hour before check-in and they let me check-in early no problem. The room was clean and had a cool mid-century decoration. The best parts were the pool/garden area and the location. TONS of great restaurants all nearby. Definitely get El Bagel and Doggi's Arepas. Highly recommended overall! And felt very safe in terms of COVID.

We are delighted Sarah that you not only enjoyed your stay but that you had the opportunity to explore all the great restaurants in our neighborhood! Next time you should certainly try Uptown 66 Taceria, voted as serving the best tacos in Miami! In Covid times, our guests really appreciate the outdoor nature of the hotel and I am glad you felt safe at The Vagabond! We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

The hotel's own website probably says it best: "Part style icon, part boutique hotel". Many aspects of the hotel, including the rooms, are thoroughly modern while existing in a 1950s footprint along with several details of that era as well. My room was quite nice and the pool looked inviting although I did not use it.

I stayed at the Vagabond for the first time this week, while visiting relatives and attending a private event at Barry University. The hotel was conveniently located to places in Miami Shores, and had plenty of free parking. We enjoyed the beautiful pool deck and the remodeled, clean rooms. I would change just a couple features of the hotel if I could. The practice of dropping off the key at the main desk and picking it up whenever we came back to the hotel was quite quaint; I had only experienced this in two old European hotels in the past. Also the large frosted windows in the room doors let in too much light. We couldn't darken our room more than a twilight glow due to the lights in the hallway. The smell of the disinfectant spray, although reassuring, was difficult to remove from the room. Nevertheless, I would stay again. We enjoyed an outdoor meal at the Mandolin, the restaurant connected to the hotel, and I would also recommend the bakery one block south on Biscayne Avenue, Flavorish. They serve a good, reasonable, breakfast with freshly squeezed OJ, and they are convenient since the hotel does not serve breakfast during the pandemic.

We are delighted that you selected the Vagabond for your recent visit to Miami. We are certainly very centrally located and as such makes it easier for our guests to explore all that Miami has to offer. We will be sure to remove the diffuser in the rooms for your next stay, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later! In terms of the lighting situation, we have black-out shades for the windows and the main doors have a film that blocks most of the hallway light. I am glad you had the opportunity to explore the restaurants in our neighborhood, we have so many good ones and a variety of cuisines. Stay safe and healthy!
